What is TripleTen?

TripleTen is an online, part-time career school that trains adults with no prior technical background for entry-level roles in software engineering, data analytics, quality assurance, cybersecurity, UX/UI design and, since 2025, several explicitly AI-oriented specialisations. It is not an AI tool in the sense that most entries in this directory are: nothing here generates images, writes copy or exposes an API. What it sells is a structured retraining programme measured in months, delivered through a browser-based learning platform, and bundled with career coaching plus a conditional tuition refund. The company's own positioning line is that it is "a career learning platform for tech professionals and complete beginners ready to move into higher-paying tech & AI roles."

The operator is TripleTen Inc., and the school is part of Nebius Group N.V., a company listed on Nasdaq under the ticker NBIS and headquartered in Amsterdam. Nebius describes TripleTen in its own investor materials as "a leading edtech platform reskilling people for careers in tech," alongside its core AI cloud business and its autonomous-vehicle unit Avride. The school began life under a different name — it operated as Practicum before rebranding to TripleTen in June 2023, a name the company says was inspired by the binary number 101010. Understanding this lineage matters for anyone evaluating the school, because a large share of the third-party reviews and outcome statistics circulating online were written under the older brand or under older programme names.

Three things distinguish the TripleTen bootcamp from the general run of coding bootcamps, and all three carry conditions worth reading closely. First, everything is part-time and asynchronous: the school asks for roughly 20 hours per week rather than requiring you to quit your job. Second, there is no admissions process for most programmes — no entrance test, no portfolio review, no selective screening. Third, there is a money-back guarantee tied to employment, which the marketing states plainly and the legal terms qualify heavily. This page treats that guarantee as the central question a prospective student needs answered, because it is the single claim most likely to drive an enrolment decision and the one whose fine print diverges most sharply from the headline.

Core Features

Part-time, asynchronous programmes with a stated 20-hour weekly load

Every TripleTen programme is delivered online and part-time. The company's FAQ states that there is "no admissions process or prerequisites to join most" of its programmes and that what is required is "motivation, persistence, and the ability to commit about 20 hours per week." The one stated exception is the AI Systems Engineering accelerator, which the FAQ says requires at least five years of prior tech-related experience. Programme durations vary by track: the outcomes report lists AI Automation at four months part-time and AI and Machine Learning at nine months part-time, while the Data Analytics programme page describes a four-month part-time course. The company also states that extensions are available for students who fall behind — useful flexibility in practice, but a feature that interacts badly with the guarantee's on-time graduation clause, as the limitations section below explains.

A programme catalogue rebuilt around AI in 2025

TripleTen's outcomes report states that "In 2025, all programs were updated to include AI tools and workflows," and the specific changes it lists are substantial rather than cosmetic. The Data Science programme was fully redesigned and renamed AI & Machine Learning; a standalone AI Automation programme was added; and AI Software Engineering — formerly just Software Engineering — was reworked to teach AI coding workflows. The published tool lists for these tracks are concrete: Python with NLTK, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, PyTorch, Keras and TensorFlow on the machine learning side; SQL, Jupyter Notebook, Docker, Bash, Flask and FastAPI, LightGBM and HuggingFace across the engineering tracks; and n8n, Make, RPA, prompt engineering and LLM integration in the automation track. The cybersecurity track additionally prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ examination, and the FAQ states that graduates come away with that industry-recognised credential alongside the TripleTen certificate — this is the only externally validated credential in the catalogue and is worth weighing heavily if third-party recognition matters to you.

Dot, the in-platform AI learning assistant

The school runs an AI assistant called Dot inside its learning platform. TripleTen describes it as a "friendly AI assistant" that "gives you instant hints and guidance (without giving away answers)" and that "adapts to your learning style," listing explanation of theory and review of coding tasks among its functions. The outcomes report adds that the company "supercharged Dot, our AI learning assistant, to coach students and give instant support" during 2025. Treat this as a study aid layered on top of human instruction rather than as the product itself: the school's own descriptions consistently place Dot alongside instructors, tutors and code reviewers rather than in place of them.

Human support: instructors, tutors, code reviewers and career coaches

The support model is multi-role and the roles are distinct. The FAQ states that one-to-one mentoring sessions with an instructor can be requested, that instructors host daily group office hours, and that project reviews are a defined step in the workflow. The outcomes report quantifies the career side: "Our students received 1600+ hours of career coaching" in 2025, with 49% of employed graduates citing coach guidance and encouragement as a factor in their success and 41% highlighting practice interviews and coaching sessions. The company also reports 56 "Code Jams" — hackathon-style team contests — during 2025, and states that students completed more than 60 projects during externships with partner companies.

Externships and an employer network

Beyond coursework, TripleTen offers externships described as projects with partner companies, positioned as a way to accumulate demonstrable work experience before the first job. The outcomes report cites "250+ companies in TripleTen's employer network" and "300+ new opportunities daily on our job board." Note two qualifications visible in third-party review data: externship access is not automatic, and reviewers on Course Report have specifically criticised long externship waitlists with poor communication about placement status.

A conditional money-back guarantee

The guarantee is the school's signature commercial promise and its most consequential feature. In marketing form it reads simply — complete the programme, work the job search as directed, and if you are not hired within ten months you get your tuition back. The binding version lives in a separate legal document published at the company's documentation site, dated 19 August 2026, and it is long. Because this is the claim most likely to determine whether a reader enrols, the full conditions are set out below in the pricing and limitations sections rather than summarised away here.

Use Cases

Career changers with a full-time job and no technical background

This is the school's core audience and its design reflects it explicitly. TripleTen's about page states that 80% of graduates "had zero coding skills or previous tech-related experience," and its FAQ adds that 61% of graduates do not hold a bachelor's degree at all. The outcomes report's demographic snapshot lists prior occupations including electrical technician, sushi chef, therapist, teacher, mechanic, sales rep, driver, bartender, cafe manager, insurance agent, pastor, broker, office manager and truck driver. The part-time structure exists precisely so that these students do not have to stop earning: the company's about page frames the pitch around people with full-time jobs, children, elderly parents and existing education debt.

Moving from an adjacent non-technical role into a data or QA role

The tracks with the shortest durations and lowest tuition — Data Analytics and Quality Assurance — suit people whose current work already involves reporting, process discipline or customer-facing product knowledge. The outcomes report gives median graduate salaries by track: $62,000 for Data Analytics graduates and $65,000 for AI Software Engineering graduates, with median salary growth of $15,750 for the Data Analytics cohort. QA in particular has a low barrier: it is the joint-cheapest programme and, per the outcomes report's graduate job titles, leads to roles such as QA Engineer, QA Analyst, Software Tester and QA Automation.

Upskilling within tech rather than entering it

Two tracks target people already working in technology. AI Systems Engineering requires five years of prior technical experience per the FAQ and is positioned for senior and architect-level progression; Forward Deployed Engineering is listed on the homepage as a nine-month programme. Both sit outside the beginner narrative, and — critically — the legal terms show that AI Systems Engineering is not covered by the money-back guarantee at all. If the guarantee is what draws you to the school, these are the wrong tracks.

Pursuing a specific external certification

The cybersecurity track is the clearest instance of a use case with a portable outcome. Because it includes the CompTIA Security+ examination, a student finishes with a credential recognised independently of TripleTen's own certificate. For anyone worried about how a bootcamp certificate reads to a hiring manager, this is a materially different proposition from the other tracks.

Deciding whether tech is worth pursuing at all

TripleTen publishes free demo material — a career quiz and short demo courses — through its mobile app, letting prospective students write their first code before committing money. Combined with the 14-day full-refund withdrawal window described on the payments page, this gives a genuine low-cost path to testing fit. Using both is the rational sequence: try the free material, enrol, and treat the first fortnight as a real evaluation period rather than an onboarding formality.

How to use TripleTen

Step 1: Choose a track against duration, cost and guarantee eligibility together

Do not choose on subject interest alone. The three variables that matter commercially — how long the programme runs, what it costs, and whether it is covered by the money-back guarantee — do not move together. The published legal terms list AI Software Engineering, AI Automation, AI and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Quality Assurance and UX/UI Design as eligible for the guarantee, while AI Systems Engineering and the Advanced Machine Learning Engineering variant of AI and Machine Learning are explicitly marked as NOT eligible. Check that table before anything else if the refund promise is part of your reasoning.

Step 2: Book the advisor call, and treat it as due diligence

The FAQ states that everyone is asked to have a call with an advisor before enrolling, framing it as a chance to walk through the profession and the programme structure. Since pricing on the site is partly rendered dynamically and the published figures vary by source, this call is where you should pin down the exact tuition for your chosen track, the exact payment structure, and — most importantly — a written confirmation of your guarantee eligibility. Ask specifically whether your programme is on the eligible list and what your on-time graduation deadline will be.

Step 3: Select a payment method with the financing risk understood

The payments page sets out four routes: upfront payment in a single instalment or up to four payments, which the company says carries the lowest price; TripleTen instalments powered by Lumion over 6, 12 or 24 months with a deposit and no credit check; loans through Climb Credit; and income-based repayment loans through Edly. Two warnings appear in TripleTen's own copy. The first: "the repayment period for certain loans may start prior to graduation. Students who do not complete the program are still responsible for their loans." The second, from the guarantee terms: "Any bank fees, loan interest, commissions, or other financial costs you incur from third-party financing are non-refundable." A refunded tuition does not make you whole if you financed it.

Step 4: Use the 14-day withdrawal window deliberately

The payments page states that after starting any programme you have two weeks to withdraw with a 100% refund, and the FAQ confirms that beyond this 14-day cancellation period students are not eligible for a refund. This is the only unconditional exit in the whole structure. Front-load your evaluation into it: complete real coursework rather than orientation, test whether 20 hours a week is actually available in your life, and interact with the support channels you are paying for.

Step 5: Work the programme to the on-time graduation clock

Graduation is defined in the legal terms as completion of your final technical project. On-time graduation means finishing within 1.5 times the standard duration listed in the Academic Catalog, measured from your scheduled start date. The terms add a clause that catches people out: "Leaves of absence, suspensions, extensions, or changing programs do not extend your On-time Graduation period." The extensions that make the programme humane are the same extensions that can silently cost you the guarantee.

Step 6: Start Career Sprint within seven days and finish it in six weeks

Access to the Career Sprint opens on graduation. The terms require that graduates "start the first Career Sprint lesson within 7 days after graduation" and complete the entire Career Sprint within six weeks of that start date, stating that "Failure to meet these Career Sprint requirements will result in the loss of MBG eligibility." There is no grace period written into this clause.

Step 7: Run the job search to the published quotas

The Job Search Period begins when your final technical projects and all mandatory career projects are accepted. You must start your first job search activity within 14 days of that date. Thereafter the weekly quotas are explicit: at least 10 job applications per week, at least 10 networking messages per week, and at least five hours per week on continued technical skill development, all tracked on the platform TripleTen specifies. You must also attend at least two synchronous activities with the career team each month and respond to career team communications within two business days. Part-time applications do not count toward the weekly minimum — only full-time roles do.

Tips & Best Practices

Read the guarantee document, not the guarantee headline

The single highest-value action a prospective student can take is to read the Money-Back Guarantee obligatory conditions in full before paying anything. The marketing version is three bullet points. The binding version runs to well over a dozen distinct requirement categories, several of which can void eligibility through inaction rather than failure. Anyone enrolling because of the guarantee should be able to recite the on-time graduation rule, the seven-day Career Sprint rule, the 24-hour offer notification rule and the weekly quotas from memory.

Calendar every deadline yourself

The terms are unambiguous about where responsibility sits: "You are responsible for keeping track of all deadlines and ensuring you complete all necessary actions to remain eligible for the Money-Back Guarantee." Combined with the 24-hour and seven-day windows elsewhere in the document, this makes an external tracking system a practical necessity rather than good hygiene.

Understand what counts as a qualifying job before you start applying

The definition is broader than most people assume, and that breadth works against the student. A Qualifying Job Offer is defined as a paid position — "including, but not limited to employment, apprenticeship, internship, independent contracting, or a promotion" — that is relevant to your field of study and expected to last at least four weeks. Relevance is judged on whether the job description reflects technical skills gained in the programme, "even if the job title doesn't directly match the name of the program." A short contract or an internal promotion can therefore terminate your guarantee.

Never decline an offer casually, and never sit on one for a day

Two clauses in the terms turn ordinary job-search behaviour into disqualification. If you receive a qualifying offer you must notify the career team within 24 hours, and the terms state that failure to do so means "your Money-Back Guarantee will be terminated immediately and you will no longer be eligible for a refund." Separately, "If you decline a Qualifying job offer, you will no longer be eligible for the Money-Back Guarantee." Weighing a low offer against holding out for a better one is a normal negotiation; under these terms it is also a decision to forfeit the refund.

Prefer upfront payment if you can afford it, and understand why

The payments page says upfront payment carries the lowest price. The guarantee terms add the second reason: financing costs are non-refundable, so a student who borrows and later succeeds in a refund claim still absorbs the interest and fees. The gap between the two routes is therefore wider than the sticker discount alone suggests.

Verify ratings yourself rather than trusting aggregate claims

TripleTen's marketing cites a 4.8/5 rating across 2,500+ reviews and a Trustpilot figure of 4.7/5. Checked directly, the Trustpilot profile shows a TrustScore of 4.5 from 1,212 reviews, with 78% five-star and 5% one-star, and 505 reviews in the last 12 months. Course Report shows 4.8 from 545 reviews; SwitchUp shows 4.86 from 256. These are all genuinely positive numbers, but they are not identical to the figures in the marketing, and the direction of the discrepancy is consistent.

Weigh the review-collection method, not just the score

Trustpilot's own profile labelling states that TripleTen "invites their customers to review, whether positive or negative," and Trustpilot notes on the same page that asking for reviews selectively can bias a TrustScore. Invitation-based collection is legitimate and widely used; it also means the sample is not spontaneous. Read the one-star reviews specifically — at 5% of 1,212 reviews, there are roughly 60 of them, which is a large enough body to reveal patterns.

Treat the CompTIA route as the strongest external validation available

If you are troubled by the fact that bootcamp certificates carry no accreditation, the cybersecurity track's inclusion of CompTIA Security+ is the one path in the catalogue that ends with a credential a hiring manager can verify independently of TripleTen.

Who is TripleTen for?

A good fit

TripleTen suits a US-resident adult in employment who wants to change careers without stopping work, who can genuinely find 20 hours per week for several months, and who is prepared to treat the post-graduation job search as a second unpaid job with weekly quotas. As an online coding bootcamp it suits people who want structure and human accountability rather than self-directed learning from free material — the coaching hours, project reviews and office hours are the substance of what is being bought. It suits people entering with no technical background, since the school's demographic data shows that is who most of its students are. And it suits people who can pay upfront, avoiding financing costs that no refund will return.

A poor fit

It is a poor fit for anyone outside the United States who is drawn by the guarantee: the terms require permanent US residence, US work authorisation without current or future sponsorship, and a job search targeting US employers. It is a poor fit for anyone under 21, since the terms set that as a hard minimum for eligibility. It is a poor fit for someone who needs a remote-only role, because the terms state you cannot limit your job search to remote-only positions. It is a poor fit for people who cannot realistically sustain 20 hours per week, because the extensions that would rescue the schedule do not extend the guarantee clock. And it is a poor fit for anyone whose priority is an accredited academic credential — the school is state-licensed and registered, which is not the same thing as accreditation.

The mismatch worth naming

There is a structural tension in the audience TripleTen serves. The school markets accessibility — no admissions screening, no degree required, no prior experience — while the guarantee that underwrites the risk demands sustained, disciplined, quota-driven execution over roughly a year and a half from enrolment to refund window. Those two things are not contradictory, but they select for different people. The student most attracted by the absence of gatekeeping is not automatically the student most likely to satisfy every clause. Being honest with yourself about which of the two you are is the most useful thing you can do before enrolling.

Platforms

TripleTen is delivered through a browser-based learning platform; there is no desktop application, and the coursework is designed for a computer rather than a phone. The company publishes an iOS application called Coding Courses by TripleTen, distributed by TripleTen Inc., free to download, rated 4.88 from 320 ratings on the US App Store, requiring iOS 13.0 or later and carrying a 4+ content rating under Education and Lifestyle. Its purpose is preview rather than delivery: it offers a career quiz and short demo courses so prospective students can sample a track. One caveat is visible in the store metadata — the listed version dates from October 2024, which makes it a largely unmaintained companion rather than an actively developed product. An Android build has existed historically, but the Play Store listing for its package returned a 404 when checked directly, so current Android availability should be confirmed with TripleTen rather than assumed.

Geographically, the school states that it is an international company operating in the US and Latin America. That distinction is important: operating in a market and extending the money-back guarantee to it are different things, and the guarantee terms restrict eligibility to permanent US residents seeking employment with US employers. The outcomes report also describes where graduates end up working rather than only whether they work: full-time on-site 34%, full-time remote 31% and full-time hybrid 31%, which means roughly two thirds of placements involve at least some office attendance. Anyone assuming that a tech career automatically means working from home should weigh that split, and it is the same assumption the guarantee terms penalise by forbidding a remote-only job search.

Instruction is in English, and the guarantee terms additionally require B2-level CEFR proficiency in spoken and written English at the start of the programme, "as determined by a third-party assessment or as requested by the TripleTen team."

Pricing & Plans

TripleTen charges per programme, not by subscription, and the published numbers are not perfectly consistent across the site — a point worth carrying into the advisor call. The FAQ on the payments page states: "Our programs cost $4,935-$9,800 upfront, depending on the program." The homepage at the time of checking displayed $12,600 against the AI & Machine Learning and AI Systems Engineering tracks, and Course Report lists a range of $4,935 to $18,000 with AI Systems Engineering at the top. The upfront figures in the payments table itself are injected dynamically and did not resolve to plain values on retrieval. The safe conclusion is that the cheapest tracks — Quality Assurance and UX/UI Design — sit near $4,935, that the range extends substantially higher for the AI-oriented and advanced tracks, and that the exact figure must be confirmed directly.

The instalment figures, by contrast, are published as plain text and are internally consistent. Through TripleTen instalments powered by Lumion, the schedules are: AI Automation and Data Analytics at $300 deposit plus $1,313 × 6 months, $600 plus $631 × 12 months, or $1,000 plus $299 × 24 months; AI Software Engineering, AI & Machine Learning and Cybersecurity at $300 plus $2,194 × 6 months, $600 plus $1,072 × 12 months, or $1,000 plus $519 × 24 months; AI Systems Engineering at $300 plus $3,283 × 6 months, $600 plus $1,617 × 12 months, or $1,000 plus $792 × 24 months; and Quality Assurance and UX/UI Design at $300 plus $1,080 × 6 months, $600 plus $515 × 12 months, or $1,000 plus $241 × 24 months. The page notes that all prices are shown without promotional discount and that all fees are subject to change without notice.

Financing runs through third parties: Climb Credit for conventional loans, with the company stating a five-minute application, an optional cosigner, no impact on credit score and instant decisions for 95% of applications; and Edly for income-based repayment loans, which TripleTen explicitly notes are financed by Transportation Alliance Bank dba TAB Bank, are "not endorsed by TripleTen," and involve a bank that "is not affiliated with TripleTen." TripleTen's own copy warns that repayment on certain loans may begin before graduation and that students who do not complete the programme remain responsible for the debt.

Two refund mechanisms exist and should not be confused. The first is the 14-day withdrawal: a full refund if you withdraw within two weeks of your start date, with no eligibility conditions attached. The second is the money-back guarantee, which returns 100% of tuition if you are not hired within ten months of graduation — subject to the extensive conditions detailed below. The guarantee terms specify that the refund amount is based on the actual amount TripleTen received under your enrolment agreement, and that the request window runs between 10 and 15 months from your Job Search Start Date, with no request accepted earlier than 10 months or later than 15.

Alternatives

Springboard is the most direct comparison in the job-guarantee category, running online, mentor-led, part-time programmes in data analytics, software engineering, UX design and cybersecurity with its own job guarantee and its own eligibility conditions. Anyone comparing the two should compare the guarantee documents rather than the guarantee headlines, since the differences live entirely in the conditions.

Coursera and edX offer professional certificate programmes — including Google's career certificates — at a fraction of bootcamp tuition, typically tens of dollars per month against several thousand dollars once. They provide no career coaching of comparable intensity, no cohort structure and no employment guarantee. For a self-directed learner with strong discipline, the cost difference is large enough that the structure TripleTen sells has to justify itself on its own terms.

freeCodeCamp and The Odin Project provide free, comprehensive, project-based curricula that overlap substantially with bootcamp coursework in technical content. What they do not provide is deadlines, human review, career coaching or any commercial commitment to your outcome. The honest framing is that TripleTen is not primarily selling content — content is broadly free — but structure, accountability and risk-sharing.

University extension programmes and community college certificates occupy the other end, offering accredited credentials, potential financial aid eligibility and institutional recognition, generally at the cost of longer timelines and less career-services intensity. For students who care specifically about accreditation, this is the category to weigh, since no bootcamp in this comparison offers it.

Within the AI-specific niche, the landscape shifts quickly enough that curriculum currency matters more than brand. TripleTen's claim that curriculum is updated monthly and that all programmes were rebuilt around AI tooling in 2025 is a real differentiator if accurate, and it is worth asking any competitor the same question.

Limitations & Considerations

The guarantee's conditions are extensive and several can be failed passively

This is the most important thing on this page. The binding conditions, published 19 August 2026, require among other things that you be at least 21 years old, permanently resident in the US, legally authorised to work without current or future sponsorship, proficient in English at B2 CEFR level, and current on tuition payments at all times. They require on-time graduation within 1.5× the standard duration, explicitly not extended by leaves of absence, suspensions, extensions or programme changes. They require starting Career Sprint within seven days of graduation and completing it within six weeks. They require starting job search within 14 days of the Job Search Start Date, with the terms noting that starting after 14 days but within three months means you may continue working with the career team "but you will not be eligible for the Money-Back Guarantee." They cap job-search breaks at two weeks across the ten-month period and prohibit leaving the United States for more than 60 days during it. Several of these conditions are failed by omission rather than by any active mistake.

Two programmes are excluded from the guarantee entirely

The eligibility table in the legal terms marks AI Systems Engineering and the Advanced Machine Learning Engineering variant of AI and Machine Learning as NOT eligible for the money-back guarantee, while the other seven tracks are eligible. This exclusion is not prominent in the general marketing, and it applies to two of the more expensive tracks.

Accepting or declining an offer both end the guarantee

Accepting a qualifying offer immediately terminates eligibility, which is expected. Declining one also terminates it, which is not. Combined with a definition of "qualifying" that includes internships, apprenticeships, contract work and internal promotions lasting four weeks or more, this substantially narrows the space in which a student can exercise normal judgement about which offers to take.

The employment rate uses a narrow denominator

TripleTen publishes its methodology, which is more than many providers do, and reading it changes the number's meaning. The Student Achievement Highlights 2026 report defines the employment rate as "All employed students and graduates in relation to everyone who has completed the active job search period, is not employed and didn't lose their money-back guarantee eligibility, plus those who found a job regardless of active job search period completion." The denominator is therefore graduates who completed the active job search period and retained guarantee eligibility — not everyone who enrolled, and not even everyone who graduated. Students who dropped out, who failed a guarantee condition, or who never completed the job search period are outside it. On that basis the report states that 63% of graduates found jobs in tech within their job search period, and that the report covers students who graduated or were scheduled to graduate between 1 January and 31 December 2024.

Marketing figures on the site and in directories are inconsistent with each other

The site's own directory listing for this tool cited 1,100 graduates and an 82% employment rate; the about page states "2,600+ Alumni" as of March 2025; the Data Analytics programme page also shows 2,600+; the homepage displays figures around 7,500+ alumni; and third-party pages cite 5,000+ or 6,000+ graduates with employment rates of 78% or 87%. The company's own outcomes report acknowledges the direction of travel plainly: "AI reshaped the 2025 job market — and our placement rate." Career Karma's page similarly reports that two thirds of graduates found a job within 10 months, "a reduction from their previous report." Any employment figure above 63% for the most recent published cohort should be treated as either older or differently defined.

Outcomes are self-reported and not independently audited

The report states that "All data in this report was collected by the TripleTen Career Team through follow-up surveys with students and alumni." There is no third-party audit, and Course Report's own page for the school notes that TripleTen has not shared alumni outcomes through that platform. Self-reported survey data with an undisclosed response rate is the weakest tier of outcome evidence, and it should be weighted accordingly regardless of how transparent the methodology statement is.

The school is licensed and registered, not accredited

TripleTen is licensed by the Wyoming Department of Education, registered as an Out of State Institution with the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, and registered with the Utah Department of Commerce Division of Consumer Protection as a Non-Degree Granting Postsecondary School. These are regulatory permissions to operate, not academic accreditation. The certificate is not a degree, does not carry transferable academic credit, and — outside the cybersecurity track's CompTIA Security+ — is not externally validated.

Ratings are strong but invitation-collected and not uniform across platforms

Verified directly: Trustpilot 4.5 from 1,212 reviews with a 78% five-star and 5% one-star split and 505 reviews in the past year; Course Report 4.8 from 545 reviews; SwitchUp 4.86 from 256 reviews. The Trustpilot profile carries the label "Asks customers to review," and Trustpilot states on the same page that offering incentives for reviews or asking for them selectively can bias a TrustScore. The company's marketing figure of 4.7/5 for Trustpilot does not match the 4.5 observed on the profile.

Documented criticisms from students

Negative and mixed reviews on Course Report cluster around identifiable themes: curriculum depth, with one reviewer describing lessons that "felt more like 'go here and click this' instead of deep learning" and noting gaps in major cloud platforms; reductions in personalised career coaching after changes to the coaching model; the learning hub being cluttered and hard to navigate; an "island feeling" of working alone rather than in groups; and long externship waitlists with poor communication. A SwitchUp reviewer separately reported a mismatch between the promised live-class cadence and what was delivered after the first two weeks. These are individual accounts within an overwhelmingly positive body of reviews, but they recur.

A refund ends the relationship

The terms state that an approved refund means losing access to the platform, all TripleTen resources, job-searching tools, events and career alumni support. A withdrawal request must be accompanied by official documentation proving unemployment status, without which "the withdrawal ticket cannot be processed." And TripleTen "holds the sole authority for all Money-Back Guarantee eligibility and refund decisions, and these decisions are considered final." There is no independent appeal written into the terms.

One clause works in the student's favour

For balance: the guarantee period may be extended by up to 12 additional months if, during the original period, the national unemployment rate reaches or exceeds 6% or rises by more than 0.5% in a single month, verified against US Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The terms also state that a student can remain eligible while employed, provided the current position is not relevant to their field of study. Both provisions are genuinely protective.

FAQ

Q1. Is TripleTen free to use, and can I try it before paying?

There is no free tier of the actual bootcamp — these are paid programmes costing thousands of dollars. There are two low-cost ways to test fit. The iOS app offers a career quiz and short demo courses at no charge, letting you write some code before committing. More substantially, the payments page states that after starting any programme you have two weeks to withdraw with a 100% refund, and the FAQ confirms that beyond this 14-day window students are not eligible for a refund. Treat that fortnight as a genuine trial and do real coursework in it.

Q2. How much does TripleTen actually cost?

The published answers vary by source, which is itself worth knowing. The payments page FAQ states programmes cost $4,935 to $9,800 upfront depending on the programme; the homepage displayed $12,600 for the AI & Machine Learning and AI Systems Engineering tracks when checked; and Course Report lists a range up to $18,000. The instalment schedules are published as plain text and are consistent — for example Quality Assurance and UX/UI Design at $300 deposit plus $1,080 per month over six months, and AI Systems Engineering at $300 plus $3,283 per month over six. Confirm the exact upfront figure for your track with an advisor, and note that all fees are stated to be subject to change without notice.

Q3. Is the money-back guarantee real, and what does it actually require?

It is a real, legally binding commitment with extensive conditions. To qualify you must be at least 21, permanently resident in the US, authorised to work without sponsorship, proficient in English at B2 CEFR level, current on payments, enrolled in an eligible programme, and seeking full-time work with a US employer without limiting your search to remote roles. You must graduate within 1.5× the standard programme duration, start Career Sprint within seven days of graduating and finish it within six weeks, begin job search within 14 days, then sustain at least 10 applications and 10 networking messages per week plus five hours of skills work, attend two synchronous career activities monthly, and respond to the career team within two business days. Refund requests are accepted no earlier than 10 and no later than 15 months after your Job Search Start Date.

Q4. Which programmes are excluded from the guarantee?

The published eligibility table marks AI Systems Engineering and the Advanced Machine Learning Engineering variant of AI and Machine Learning as NOT eligible. AI Software Engineering, AI Automation, AI and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Quality Assurance and UX/UI Design are listed as eligible. If the guarantee is central to your decision, verify your specific programme's status in writing before enrolling.

Q5. What happens if I get a job offer during the guarantee period?

You must notify the career team within 24 hours, and the terms state that failing to do so terminates the guarantee immediately. Accepting a qualifying offer ends eligibility, and so does declining one. A qualifying offer is defined broadly: any paid position expected to last at least four weeks that is relevant to your field of study, including internships, apprenticeships, independent contracting and internal promotions, judged by the job description rather than the job title.

Q6. What proportion of graduates actually get hired?

TripleTen's Student Achievement Highlights 2026 report states that 63% of graduates found jobs in tech within their job search period, covering students who graduated or were scheduled to graduate during calendar 2024. That figure uses a specific denominator — graduates who completed the active job search period and retained guarantee eligibility, plus those who found jobs regardless — rather than all enrollees. Higher figures circulating online, such as 82% or 87%, are older or differently defined; the company itself notes that AI reshaped the 2025 job market and its placement rate. All data is self-reported via career-team surveys and is not independently audited.

Q7. Is TripleTen accredited, and what is the certificate worth?

It is licensed and registered rather than accredited: licensed by the Wyoming Department of Education, registered as an Out of State Institution with the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, and registered with Utah's Division of Consumer Protection as a Non-Degree Granting Postsecondary School. The certificate is not a degree and carries no transferable academic credit. The one exception in terms of external validation is the cybersecurity track, which includes the CompTIA Security+ examination, so graduates finish with an independently recognised industry credential alongside the TripleTen certificate.

Q8. How much time does it take, and can I keep my job?

The FAQ states that programmes require roughly 20 hours per week and that there is no admissions process or prerequisite for most tracks — the AI Systems Engineering accelerator is the stated exception, requiring at least five years of prior technical experience. Durations range from four months part-time for AI Automation and Data Analytics up to nine months part-time for AI and Machine Learning. Extensions are available if you fall behind, but be aware that extensions do not extend the on-time graduation deadline that the money-back guarantee depends on.

Q9. What are the most common complaints from students?

Recurring themes in mixed and negative reviews include curriculum that some students found shallow in places, with one Course Report reviewer describing lessons that felt more like following instructions than deep learning and noting gaps in major cloud platforms; reduced personalisation in career coaching following changes to the coaching model; a cluttered and hard-to-navigate learning hub; an isolating solo-study experience; and long externship waitlists with poor communication. A SwitchUp reviewer reported live classes dropping to roughly once a week after the first fortnight, against an expectation of four times weekly.

Q10. Who runs TripleTen, and is the company stable?

The operating entity is TripleTen Inc., and the school is part of Nebius Group N.V., which is listed on Nasdaq as NBIS and headquartered in Amsterdam. Nebius describes TripleTen in its financial reporting as a consolidated business alongside its core AI cloud operation and the autonomous-vehicle unit Avride. The school previously operated under the name Practicum and rebranded to TripleTen in June 2023, which is why older reviews and statistics appear under the earlier brand. Being part of a listed group means the parent's financial disclosures are public, which is more transparency than most private bootcamp operators offer.
