What is ParakeetAI?

ParakeetAI is a real-time AI call assistant: it runs beside a live video or phone call, transcribes what is being said and drafts answers on your screen while the conversation continues. It is marketed for interviews, sales calls, client meetings and any conversation where freezing up is not an option. The service is run by ParakeetAI d.o.o., which its terms describe as a company registered in Slovenia with an address in Ljubljana.

Around the live assistant, the product bundles preparation tools: AI mock interviews, a company-by-company question bank, a resume builder and AI headshots. All four draw on the same credits or Unlimited subscription as the live sessions.

ParakeetAI's homepage leans heavily on not being noticed during calls, while the same page says the product is built for conversations where AI assistance is permitted and offers employers a way to block it. Both positions come from the company's own pages.

Core features

ParakeetAI's features as an AI interview assistant fall into two groups: help during the live call, and tools for the days before it.

Live answers during the call

  • Auto Answer: ParakeetAI detects questions as they are asked and suggests answers in real time, so the user is not left without a reply.
  • Meeting detection: ParakeetAI spots meetings as they start and asks whether to join, so nothing needs to be configured mid-call.
  • No bot in the room: The company says ParakeetAI never joins the call as a participant, so it does not appear in the meeting, the participant list or the call recording.
  • Manual control: Besides automatic answers, the user can send ParakeetAI typed messages or screenshots during the call.

Coding and technical calls

For technical calls, ParakeetAI listens for coding questions and reads code shared on the screen, then talks through the approach while the call is still going. The company describes this as full coding support with code suggestions and explanations, available in both interview mode and regular call mode.

After the call

When a call ends, AI Notes summarizes key points, action items and decisions. Past sessions stay in a session list so calls can be prepared and reviewed later.

Preparation tools

  • Mock interviews: Users can practice out loud against an AI interviewer that answers back and then read the transcript; the first mock interview is free.
  • Question Bank: It collects interviewer questions from real interviews run with ParakeetAI, grouped by company and ranked by how often they come up.
  • Resume Maker: It builds a resume tailored to the role being targeted, so the call starts from the right story.
  • Headshots: It turns one uploaded photo into studio-style headshots meant for LinkedIn profiles and resumes.

Privacy mode as marketed

Privacy mode is a large part of how ParakeetAI sells itself. The homepage describes the experience as "completely undetectable, completely yours." It says ParakeetAI stays completely invisible to others while the user shares their screen. It further claims the app is hidden from the Dock and Activity Monitor and that users can switch tabs or windows without platforms detecting that they moved away.

These are vendor statements; the conditions the company attaches to them appear under Limitations.

Guide

A live session is set up the same way whether it is an interview or an ordinary call:

  1. Pick a mode. Each session is created in interview mode or regular call mode, and only interview mode also uses the uploaded CV or resume.
  2. Add context. ParakeetAI reads the uploaded resume, any documents added to the account and whatever is typed into the session's Instructions field; a full job description can be pasted there.
  3. Choose a model and language. The model dropdown offers several Gemini, GPT and Claude models, with a fast default preselected; lighter models respond faster, while larger ones can give more detailed answers. ParakeetAI supports more than 50 languages but listens for one language at a time, so the session language must be changed if the conversation switches languages.
  4. Connect the call. On the web the user shares a single browser tab with ParakeetAI; the desktop app captures a display, and macOS asks for Screen Recording permission.

The company says the screen capture in step 4 is only how the operating system lets ParakeetAI hear the call, and that the captured picture stays on the device.

Use cases and examples

ParakeetAI says it is built for conversations where AI assistance is permitted, and names sales calls, internal meetings, mock calls, language practice and self-study as examples. Beyond those, its pages describe several situations:

  • Job interviews: Interview mode sends the live transcript to the chosen model together with the resume, job description and notes.
  • Technical customer calls: For non-interview calls, ParakeetAI cites support escalations, integration reviews and architecture walkthroughs, where it reads the code shared on screen and talks through a fix while the call continues.
  • Sales and client meetings: Regular call mode covers sales calls, client meetings and similar conversations where a resume is not relevant.
  • Interview preparation: Mock interviews and the Question Bank let candidates rehearse company-specific questions before a real call.
  • Online exams: The company's FAQ states that the product also works during online exams.

Who is it for

ParakeetAI fits people who want live, on-screen help in spoken conversations and are allowed to use it:

  • Job seekers in settings where AI help is accepted, who want answers grounded in their own resume and the job description.
  • Sales, account and support staff who handle client calls and want suggested replies plus post-call notes.
  • Engineers on technical calls who want help reading shared code during a conversation.

It does not fit everyone:

  • Minors: The services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old, and younger people may not register.
  • People bound by conduct rules: The terms prohibit using the service to violate obligations owed to an employer, school, examination provider, certification body, interviewer or any platform whose rules apply.
  • Anyone whose counterpart says no: The homepage tells users to check the rules first and, if a company, school or caller says no, to respect it.

Employers sit on the other side of the product. ParakeetAI says it honors blocklist requests from any employer that sends its domain or hiring process to compliance@parakeet-ai.com.

Platforms

  • Desktop: The desktop app runs on Windows and macOS. In a browser, live sessions need desktop Chrome, which is also how Linux users run ParakeetAI; other browsers are not supported for live sessions.
  • Mobile: A native mobile app has been announced for the App Store and Google Play but was not available to download at capture, so phones use a mobile-optimized browser version instead. The company says the same web app works just as well on iOS and Android.
  • Phone calls: ParakeetAI supports phone calls over Google Voice, set up by starting a session in the browser and following the phone-icon instructions.
  • Meeting and coding tools: ParakeetAI lists Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Lark, Amazon Chime, CoderPad and HackerRank as platforms on which it checks that the app stays invisible.

Pricing

ParakeetAI pricing combines a free trial, pay-as-you-go credits, unlimited subscriptions and a Custom plan for preparation tools. Prices below were captured on October 4, 2026 in US dollars; the billing FAQ says customers in most of Europe, excluding the UK, can pay in euros instead of US dollars.

The free tier gives 10 free sessions of up to 10 minutes each, with a new one available every 12 minutes, plus one free mock interview. Trying the product requires no credit card.

Credits convert at 0.5 credit for a 30-minute call or mock session, 0.5 credit per resume PDF download or headshot, and 1 credit per Question Bank company position. An active session extends automatically by another 30 minutes and 0.5 credits when its timer reaches zero; an idle session does not extend, and an Auto Extend switch turns this off per session. A session takes its credits only once it is connected, meaning the call tab, or the microphone on a phone, has been captured; cancelling or denying that capture costs nothing.

Browsing the Question Bank is free on every account. Without a plan that includes it, the free preview opens one company's 3 most-asked questions, and 1 credit unlocks all of that company's questions for good.

Credits never expire. The same billing FAQ says lifetime plans are available alongside subscriptions, but the pricing section captured on October 4, 2026 listed no lifetime plan or price, so the two pages are not consistent. A 3-month Custom option labeled "Save 50%" exists, but its price was not shown in the default view. In India, UPI is accepted; because UPI cannot carry the yearly subscription's auto-renewing charge, the yearly plan is also offered there as a one-time payment.

ParakeetAI offers a 7-day refund window only for accidental or unused purchases; once any credit from a purchase is used, it is no longer eligible, and unused credits are not partially refunded. The terms also limit this to a single refund per person, not per account.

ParakeetAI alternatives

Several AI interview assistants compete for the same live-call job, and their own sites position them differently:

  • Final Round AI: Its Interview CoPilot is described as an AI interview assistant that listens to a live interview and shows real-time answers in a private window only the user can see.
  • LockedIn AI: It presents itself as an AI interview assistant that analyzes questions and provides real-time answers, code solutions and live coaching. LockedIn AI lists Windows, macOS, iOS and Android apps, whereas ParakeetAI had no native mobile app at capture.
  • Cluely: It positions itself as an AI meeting assistant that takes meeting notes and gives real-time answers.

ParakeetAI publishes its own comparison pages against LockedIn AI, Interview Coder, Cluely, Final Round AI and AIApply; they are written by the company rather than by independent reviewers.

Limitations

Conditions on the privacy mode

The company's own FAQ narrows the screen-share claim. The desktop window is hidden only while Private mode is on, and in an interview that setting locks once the call is live. In Zoom, users must also update Zoom and turn on Advanced capture with window filtering, or ParakeetAI can show in what is shared. The web version is a browser tab that cannot hide itself, so it appears in anything shared that includes it.

Accuracy claims versus user reports

ParakeetAI advertises "100% Accurate Responses" and says it chose between the best LLMs available. A public review platform's AI-generated summary, based on 535 reviews, reports mostly positive experiences but notes that some reviewers said the tool can repeat responses or struggle to detect questions under pressure, and that it sometimes fails to respond quickly or correctly on complex tasks. As captured on October 4, 2026, the same profile showed 4.7 out of 5 from 522 reviews, with 82% five-star and 3% one-star ratings.

As captured on the same day, the homepage separately advertised more than 1.5M users and a 4.86 rating from 340K+ reviews. A related company policy: ParakeetAI grants free credits to users who review it on another site, and keeps a record of each claim after account deletion so the same review cannot be paid for twice.

Privacy and data handling

  • Transcription: During a live call, microphone or call audio is streamed to Speechmatics, which returns the transcript.
  • Answer generation: The transcript, together with the resume, job description, notes and any attached screenshots, goes to the AI model chosen for the session, served by OpenAI, Google, Anthropic (directly or through Amazon Web Services) or Cerebras.
  • Documents: Files attached to a session are split into passages that are embedded, stored and searched through Pinecone, in a partition reserved for the user's account.
  • Provider use: The privacy policy says each AI provider processes data only to provide its service to ParakeetAI and limits its use of user content to that service. Model training is not addressed separately in the policy text checked.
  • Voice profile: A voice profile, which helps the service tell the user's speech apart from other voices, is optional biometric data processed only with explicit consent and can be deleted from the profile page.
  • Question Bank contributions: Only real interviews with transcript saving on feed the Question Bank, and mock interviews never do. Questions are rewritten and stripped of personal details, and a Privacy switch in the profile stops an account's interviews from contributing and removes what they already contributed.

FAQ

Q1. Is ParakeetAI free to try?

Yes, within limits. New users get 10 free sessions of up to 10 minutes each and one free mock interview, with no credit card required; full-length calls need credits or a subscription.

Q2. Does ParakeetAI join my meeting as a bot?

No. The company says it is not a participant, so it does not show up in the meeting, the participant list or the recording. It hears the call through a captured browser tab or display on the user's own device.

Q3. Can I use ParakeetAI on my phone?

Only through the browser for now. The native mobile app was not available at capture, but the mobile-optimized web version works on iOS and Android, and phone calls are supported over Google Voice.

Q4. Can an employer block ParakeetAI from its interviews?

ParakeetAI says it honors blocklist requests from any employer that sends its domain or hiring process to its compliance address. Its terms separately prohibit users from breaching obligations owed to employers, schools or exam providers.

Q5. Which AI models generate the answers?

Users pick the model per session from several Gemini, GPT and Claude options, served by OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or Cerebras. Transcription runs through Speechmatics.
