What is Outreach?

Outreach is a web-based sales execution system for B2B revenue teams: a sales engagement platform, conversation intelligence, deal and pipeline management, and forecasting in one product, with AI agents working across those stages. The company calls it the only revenue orchestration platform that covers prospecting, deal management, forecasting, coaching and account expansion in one agentic AI platform.

The AI layer is the current headline. Outreach says its AI agents act as teammates that work every deal and every account for every rep at the same time, while sellers keep the relationship and closing work.

Outreach is an established vendor rather than a new AI startup. Its company page lists a $4.4B valuation after Series G financing. A March 2025 news report said founder Manny Medina grew Outreach to 800 employees and $250 million in annual recurring revenue before leaving the CEO role.

Package prices are not published. Packages are quoted per team and combine per-user seats with AI credits, so cost depends on headcount, the package and how heavily the agents run.

Core features

The agents work on the same engagement, call and CRM data as the rest of the product, so how much they can see depends on how much of a team's selling actually runs through Outreach.

AI sales agents

Outreach's AI sales agents are preconfigured for specific moments in the sales cycle:

  • Revenue Agent: identifies high-intent accounts, sources new contacts and drafts messages designed to raise response rates.
  • Research Agent: combines Outreach conversation data with first-party engagement data and third-party public data.
  • Deal Agent: suggests opportunity-field updates from what was said on calls and meetings; updates can be applied automatically or reviewed and edited by sellers before they are accepted.
  • Meeting Prep Agent: generates structured meeting briefs from CRM data, past conversations and meeting details.
  • Agent Studio: a visual workflow builder that connects agents, triggers and actions without technical setup.

Omni and MCP connections

Omni is a chat agent that answers questions across accounts, deals, pipeline and conversations, then helps act on the answer. It works inside Outreach, in Slack and on mobile, carrying chat history and context between them.

Outreach MCP has two directions. MCP Client pulls tools such as Amplitude, Glean, Seismic and ZoomInfo into Outreach workflows, while MCP Server lets assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot use Outreach insights and actions.

Sales engagement

  • Multichannel sequences: engagement across email, LinkedIn, SMS and calls syncs back to CRM contacts and opportunities.
  • Out-of-office handling: a sequence pauses automatically when a contact is out of office and resumes when they return.
  • A/B testing: built-in tests show with statistical significance which messages and steps perform best.
  • Knowledge uploads: case studies, white papers and competitive battlecards can be loaded into the AI knowledge base to steer personalized messaging.

Conversation intelligence (Kaia)

  • Live meetings: Kaia joins and records meetings, transcribes them in real time and surfaces live battlecards.
  • One-sided recording: only the seller's side of a call is recorded, for coaching while supporting compliance needs.
  • Translations: call and meeting summaries and transcripts can be translated into each user's preferred language.

Deals and forecasting

Smart Deal Assist predicts whether a deal will close and recommends actions to keep it on track. Outreach puts that prediction accuracy at 81%, a vendor figure rather than an independent benchmark. The deeper forecasting toolset sits in the top package, as the pricing table shows.

Guide

Outreach is bought through a demo and quote, so rollout normally starts with an admin rather than a self-serve sign-up. Onboarding services range from self-serve packages to full implementation and training, including FDE resources to help deploy agents.

  1. Connect the CRM. For Microsoft Dynamics, the person connecting needs Admin permission in Outreach to reach the plugin settings.
  2. Install the browser extension. Outreach Everywhere is added from the Chrome Web Store and opens an Outreach panel beside prospect and deal screens.
  3. Roll out the Outlook add-in in stages. Outreach advises admins to deploy the v2.0 add-in gradually and test with a few users first.
  4. Set each user's language. Under Personal Settings > User Information, users can switch the interface to French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese or Portuguese, then refresh the app.
  5. Request API access for custom builds. Using the Outreach API requires registering a project and getting an API key.

Outreach use cases and examples

  • Inbound and closed-lost plays: Agent Studio ships ready-to-run workflows for moments from inbound lead qualification to re-engaging closed-lost deals, and teams can adapt them to their own process.
  • Per-attendee meeting briefs: Meeting Prep Agent uses speaker separation to identify each stakeholder and pull their individual pain points from past calls into the brief.
  • Renewal protection: success and account teams can use agents that flag renewal or churn risk early and automate retention plays.
  • Board and QBR material in an AI assistant: in Outreach's own MCP Server example, a seller asks Claude to build a personalized QBR presentation from Outreach conversation, engagement and deal history.
  • Stack consolidation: in an Outreach customer story, Amplitude reports saving over $600K per year in tech spend after consolidating five platforms into one.

All of these examples come from Outreach's own pages and customer stories, so they describe intended workflows rather than independently measured results.

Who is it for

  • Sales development teams that build qualified pipeline through sequenced, multichannel prospecting.
  • Account executives, managers and executives: Omni is designed for the whole revenue team, from sellers to leadership.
  • Revenue operations teams that design, measure and improve seller workflows and forecasting processes.
  • Customer success teams responsible for account health, renewals and expansion.
  • Teams with complex pipelines: Agent Studio is pitched as especially valuable where activity volume is high or the sales process has many steps.

It is a weaker fit for individual sellers or very small teams looking for a free tier or a published monthly price, since every package is quoted. The terms also state that the services are not intended for anyone under 18.

Platforms

Outreach runs as a web application, with a browser extension, an Outlook add-in and phone apps around it.

  • Web app: Google Chrome is the officially supported browser; Outreach may run in others, including Edge, but full functionality is not guaranteed there.
  • Browser extension: Outreach Everywhere works with Gmail, Salesforce (Lightning and Classic) and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • CRM connections: the Dynamics connection needs Dynamics 365 Sales hosted in Microsoft's cloud. The HubSpot integration is managed and supported by HubSpot's engineers.
  • Mobile: the Outreach Mobile App is available for iOS and Android phones.
  • Meetings: integrations with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Cisco Webex.
  • Hosting: production runs on Amazon Web Services, and an EU data center serves customers that need EU data tenancy.
  • Sign-in: SAML 2.0 federation provides SSO through any number of identity providers.

Pricing

Outreach pricing is quote-only for the packages themselves: the pricing page asks teams to request custom pricing, while credit overage and calling rates are published. The model combines seat-based pricing with consumption-based pricing in AI credits, and the page sums it up as per-user pricing with no platform fees and support included.

AI credits and overages

  • Metering: each AI action, such as generating a personalized message, deducts a predefined number of credits.
  • Top-ups: teams that need more than their plan includes can buy extra credit packs at any time.
  • Overages: usage is not cut off when pre-purchased credits run out; overage credits are billed in arrears at $1.40 per credit (subject to change), and balances are computed on the 1st of each month.
  • Add-ons: Data Sharing, Connectors, Additional Instances and Listener Licenses are sold separately.
  • Support: Plus support is included with Amplify Core, and additional managed services come with Amplify Pro.

Outreach Voice calling

The dialer is part of the platform, but customers pay for usage, including voice minutes and phone numbers. A standard calling plan includes 1000 minutes per user per month, while a premium plan covers unlimited calling within reasonable usage. The global plan covers 50 countries for $300 per month per org; past its 10,000 included minutes, extra blocks cost $40 per 1000 minutes. Call durations are rounded up to the nearest minute.

Contract terms

Agreements renew automatically for successive twelve-month periods unless the order says otherwise. Either side can stop renewal with written notice at least thirty days before the current term ends. Orders are non-cancelable and non-refundable except as the agreement provides, and fees can change at renewal with at least sixty days' notice.

Outreach alternatives

Outreach's own comparison pages target Gong, Salesloft and Apollo, while independent peer-review data shows buyers also weigh it against CRM suites.

  • Gong: positions itself around capturing every interaction, analyzing what is working and automating next steps. Its pricing adds a platform fee based on the number of users, whereas Outreach advertises no platform fee.
  • Salesloft: brands itself as the predictive revenue system and lists Clari Forecast among its products. Outreach's comparison page frames its own edge as scoring every deal in real time and automating the fix through agents.
  • Apollo: advertises access to 240M contacts and 30M companies and offers a Free plan for exploring the product or very light usage.
  • CRM suites: on one peer-review platform, the products compared with Outreach most often are Salesforce Sales Cloud, Zoho CRM and Oracle CX Sales.

Limitations

Most of these limits come from Outreach's own help articles and policies.

  • Announced, not shipped: building Agent Studio workflows from natural-language descriptions is labeled coming soon. In Omni, adding prospects to sequences, updating records and turning plays into repeatable workflows are listed as future enhancements.
  • Companion mobile app: the app complements the web application for core sales tasks rather than managing complex workflows.
  • CRM edges: HubSpot email sync only runs from Outreach to HubSpot, and Outreach does not currently support Dynamics On-Premise.
  • Partial localization: only static interface text is translated; user-generated text, custom fields and CRM-synced content stay in their original language.
  • Sending rules: the acceptable use policy requires permission to email recipients of bulk campaigns and bars sending from group lists or role addresses such as sales@.
  • Recording consent: consent to record meetings depends on the meeting vendor in use, so compliance setup differs between, for example, Teams and Zoom.

Privacy, security and AI data use

Outreach's data commitments are spread across its security, privacy and sales AI pages, and they are not worded identically.

  • Data use wording differs between pages: the security FAQ says customers own and control their data and that Outreach uses it only to provide the subscribed service. The privacy page says customer data is used to provide the service and improve Outreach's platforms.
  • Model training: Outreach says it secures rights and permissions for all data used to train its models and uses customer data only per contractual commitments. Its speech recognition model trains on a customer's content to learn business-specific terms. Google Workspace data is not used to develop, improve or train AI or ML models.
  • Certifications: the security FAQ lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and TRUSTe, while the trust page lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 42001 and HIPAA. Trust Center access goes through an account executive.
  • Controls: admins can process single right-to-be-forgotten requests in the admin menu, with an API for bulk deletion. Retention periods for voice recordings, meeting recordings and emails are configurable, and data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Omni chats: conversations are private to the user and workspace, and history is saved automatically.
  • Mobile data: the Android app's data-safety section states that no data is shared with third parties.
  • Availability: Outreach promises 99.9% uptime as part of its customer agreement.

FAQ

Q1. How much does Outreach cost?

Outreach does not publish package prices. Each team gets a quote that combines per-user seats with an AI credit allowance, from 10,000 credits in Amplify Essentials to 100,000 in Amplify Pro. Extra usage is billed per credit, and Outreach Voice minutes and phone numbers are charged separately.

Q2. What happens when a team runs out of AI credits?

Agents keep working. Outreach does not block usage once pre-purchased credits are used up; the overage is invoiced monthly at the published pay-as-you-go rate, or the team can buy another credit pack in advance.

Q3. Which CRMs and inboxes does Outreach work with?

The browser extension supports Gmail, Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365, and there is an Outlook add-in. Dynamics must be the Microsoft-hosted cloud edition. HubSpot is supported through a HubSpot-managed integration that syncs Outreach emails one way.

Q4. Does Outreach train AI models on customer data?

Outreach says it secures rights for all data used to train its models and uses customer data only per contractual commitments; its transcription model also learns from each customer's own content. Google Workspace data is excluded from AI and ML model training.

Q5. Can an Outreach contract be cancelled early?

Orders are non-cancelable and non-refundable unless the agreement says otherwise. Auto-renewal can be stopped with written notice at least thirty days before the term ends.
