In practice it works as an AI headshot generator first, with a broader personal photography catalog layered on top.
The headshot service used to be sold as InstaHeadshots. InstaHeadshots is now Magic Studio, and the company describes the headshot service as the same product and account experience under a new name.
Magic Studio also keeps its older AI photo editor and single-purpose image tools on the same domain. Those tools are still available, but their accounts remain separate from accounts that started on InstaHeadshots, so one login does not necessarily cover both halves of the brand.

Every account starts with a set of professional headshots; the social and dating collections open up through credits only after a purchase, so the free preview shows headshot output rather than the full catalog.
Editing opens only after a pack is purchased. You can then change a photo's outfit, backdrop, hairstyle, hair colour, glasses, expression, eye colour or gaze, reduce wrinkles or remove jewellery, describe a change in your own words with Magic Edit, or clear small distractions with Magic Eraser. Most of these edits draw on the pack's credits, which is why the credit allowance matters when picking a pack.
The tools and the headshot service overlap mainly through Magic Eraser, which appears inside headshot editing and as a standalone tool.
These examples split along the same line as the product: profile and team photos come from the paid personal-model workflow, while listing and product cleanup relies on the editor tools and their resolution limits.

Pack prices vary by location. The headshot page's structured data lists a starting offer named Basic at $59, which does not match the Starter, Standard and Premium names used in the homepage FAQ.
Credits set the real cost of going beyond the first set. Most editing tools use one credit each and Magic Eraser uses none, while creating five photos in a new look, generating five "More like this" photos, or upscaling one photo to 4K each costs five credits. Additional credits can be purchased only after a base pack. Starter or Standard buyers can also upscale individual photos to 4K for five credits each.
Team pricing is per person and lower than individual pricing, with discounts of up to 30% that grow as seats are added and custom pricing above 100 people. Teams can create and preview headshots for free and pay only when ready to download, but once a member's headshots are generated the team is charged for that person even if they are later removed.

PRO covers the quick editing tools, including Magic Eraser, Background Remover, Image Upscaler and the AI generators. The free allowance for AI generation is stated two ways.
