What is RevisionDojo?

RevisionDojo is a study platform for the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) that combines practice questions, notes, flashcards, past paper videos, AI coursework marking and an AI tutor called Jojo. It is pitched as all-in-one IB exam prep covering both exam revision and coursework.

On its relationship with the International Baccalaureate, the site's footer states that RevisionDojo "was developed independently of the IBO and as such is not endorsed by it in any way." The service is operated by MyDojo Inc., the company named in the site's copyright line.

The company reports 650K+ students and teachers on the platform and 4,000+ schools represented in its community; these are vendor figures. Its homepage also says "our students improve by one point on every subject on average", a figure drawn from a self-reported survey that is explained under Limitations.

Core features

Question bank and papers

  • IB question bank: Students write an answer to an exam-style question, choose Grade answer, and get a mark plus written feedback on what they wrote.
  • Question count: The pricing page gives two different sizes for the bank, "40,000+ IB questions" in its Pro feature list and "35k+ IB-style questions" in its comparison table.
  • Past and predicted papers: Past papers are real IB exams with a video walkthrough for each question, and the section holds video solutions rather than copies of the papers; predicted papers are new practice papers the company says are written by IB examiners, and most of them need Pro.

Notes, lessons and flashcards

  • Interactive lessons: Instead of reading, students work through cards that ask them to answer questions, match terms, fill in blanks and put steps in order.
  • Flashcards: Decks are built for active recall with spaced repetition.

The homepage presents a content team that mixes people it describes as official IB examiners with more than a decade of teaching and former IB students who earned 7s in HL subjects and now study at university.

Jojo AI tutor

Jojo works through IB questions in a conversation grounded in the student's subject, level and study context, and it is designed to use follow-up prompts and checkpoints rather than jump straight to a final answer. The Pro feature list also includes creating personalized quizzes on any topic with Jojo.

General Jojo chat can still generate or rewrite text when asked, and RevisionDojo's own IB AI policy page says students must review and acknowledge any AI-generated material they use in submitted work. That page compares RevisionDojo's practices line by line with the IB's academic integrity policy and AI guidance and labels them "Aligned", which is the company's own assessment.

IB coursework grader

  • Draft or finished marking: Draft feedback costs 5 energy and returns rubric comments pinned to the document with no score, while marking finished work costs 10 energy and adds a mark for every criterion and an overall score.
  • Projected grade: Where RevisionDojo holds grade boundaries for a rubric, a full report also shows a projected IB grade.
  • Oral practice: An IO Grader records an Individual Oral and returns criterion marks.

Checker, planner and tools

  • AI and plagiarism checker: It runs two scans on the same text, an AI-writing estimate and a match against published sources, and it refuses text shorter than 75 words.
  • Study planner: It turns one subject, its topics and an exam date into a day-by-day schedule of questions, notes, lessons, videos and flashcards, needs no paid plan and costs no energy.

Guide

Setting up an account

On first sign-in, RevisionDojo asks for the interface language, whether the user is a student, parent, teacher or tutor, IB DP or IB MYP, the exam year or MYP year, and subjects. Subjects can be changed later in settings, although the number of changes an account can make is limited.

Getting coursework marked

  1. Open the IB coursework grader and upload one PDF, DOCX or DOC file; there is no word limit.
  2. Choose the subject and the rubric; for an IA, also choose Standard Level or Higher Level.
  3. Under coursework progress, pick draft feedback or marking of finished work.
  4. Set the coursework language and, for finished work, a citation format.
  5. Choose Mini Report or Full Report; only the Full Report carries a score, it needs Pro, and Pro users skip this step.
  6. Tick the confirmation box and choose Grade My Coursework; marking takes a few minutes.

RevisionDojo use cases

  • Timed mock exams: After sitting a predicted paper, students can choose Add attempt to log score, time and notes, and saved attempts stay under My past attempts so changes between sittings are visible.
  • Printed custom tests: Papers made in the exam builder download as a question paper, a markscheme or both.
  • Planning toward an exam session: In the study planner, IB DP students can pick an official exam session that fills in the real papers and paper dates, or plan for a class test instead.
  • Classroom teaching: Teacher classrooms include a lesson builder, a test builder, bulk IA and EE grading and an AI checker, but anything students see, such as homework and invites, needs a Classroom Pro school licence; the bulk grader takes up to 250 PDFs at once, 25 MB each.

Who is it for

  • IB DP and MYP students: RevisionDojo is built for the International Baccalaureate only, so students on A Level, AP or GCSE courses will find no content for those programmes.
  • Age requirement: Its terms require users to be at least 13, and under-18s must use the service under the guidance of a parent or guardian who agrees to the terms on their behalf.
  • Parents paying for a plan: A student can send a parent or guardian a secure payment link by email, and the parent needs no sign-in to pay.
  • Schools and teachers: Schools buy a Classroom Pro licence priced per school after a call with the schools team, with no online checkout.

Coverage varies by subject: a subject page only shows tabs for content that exists, so a subject can lack resources such as cheatsheets or past papers without any plan restriction.

Platforms

  • Web and mobile apps: RevisionDojo has a free iPhone, iPad and Android app that uses the same account, but classrooms, assignments and everything a teacher does stay on revisiondojo.com in a browser.
  • Web-only tools: IA, EE and TOK marking, the essay marker, the plagiarism and AI check, the exam builder, Teach Jojo, the citation generator and coursework examples open the website rather than running in the app.
  • Offline study: Pro users can download notes, lessons, flashcards and cheatsheets to a device for use without a connection, but videos cannot be downloaded.
  • Mac: A dedicated Mac desktop app keeps subjects, practice and Jojo together.
  • Languages: The interface can be set to English, Español or Français, and study notes switch language only when a French or Spanish version of that note exists.

As captured on October 4, 2026, the iOS listing was free to download, rated 4+, required iOS 15.1 or later, named MyDojo Inc. as seller and showed an average of 4.77 out of 5 from 96 ratings. On the same date, the Android listing showed 500+ downloads, an Everyone rating and in-app purchases.

Pricing

PlanPrice as capturedWeekly study allowanceAI tools and premium content
FreeNo charge; the account never expires10 energy a week; 3 notes, 3 lessons and 5 flashcard decks a week3 essay markings a month; 10 question walkthroughs in total
PlusNot shown in the captured pricing viewUnlimited energy, notes, lessons and flashcardsSame AI-tool allowance as Free; no cheatsheets, predicted papers, EE and IA guides or coursework exemplars
ProExam Pass at $399 one-time (original price $798), access until May 31, 2027UnlimitedEverything in Plus, plus videos, cheatsheets, predicted papers, guides and exemplars

The Pro price was captured on October 4, 2026 from the pricing page's default "May 2027 Exams" view, under a "back to school sale - 50% off" banner; prices for the 1-, 3-, 6- and 12-month options were not shown in that view, and all prices are in USD. Prices depend on the subscription length and already include whatever discount is running.

Plus lifts the weekly caps on energy, notes, lessons and flashcards, while Pro also adds unlimited essay marking, question walkthroughs and Teach Jojo sessions. Pro includes 25,000 AI checker words a month.

On Free, walkthroughs and AI checker words are lifetime totals: once 10 walkthroughs are opened or 1,000 words scanned, they do not come back. Energy is the real coursework limit on Free, allowing at most two drafts or one finished piece a week if nothing else spends energy, and free accounts get only the mini report.

Energy costs per action: unlocking a topic's notes or lesson costs 5, flashcards cost 3, a 15-minute Jojo chat session costs 1 and grading one question bank answer costs 1. Energy cannot be bought or earned, and unused energy does not build up.

  • Term payments: Each subscription term is paid up front in one payment, and Stripe emails a reminder three days before renewal.
  • Exam passes: An exam session pass is a single payment with no renewal and access until the end date on the pass.
  • Failed renewals: Paid access stops as soon as a renewal payment fails, with no grace period and no warning banner.
  • Refunds: Subscriptions bought directly from RevisionDojo are non-refundable, including the current period, apart from rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, and Apple handles any refund request for purchases made in the iPhone app.
  • Plan changes: A Plus-to-Pro upgrade starts straight away at the prorated difference with the same renewal date, but there is no button to move from Pro down to Plus.

RevisionDojo alternatives

  • Revision Village: It calls itself the "#1 IBDP Resource voted by Teachers and Students", promises "No AI slop" with tools created by IB educators, and offers a 100% money back guarantee on RV Gold options, a contrast with RevisionDojo's non-refundable subscriptions.
  • Kognity: An interactive teaching and learning platform that reports use by 2,000+ schools and covers the IB DP, IB MYP and Cambridge IGCSE.
  • Clastify: It offers examiner-marked coursework, exam-style question banks, revision notes, flashcards and AI study tools.

RevisionDojo's pricing page claims 86% of students prefer it over Revision Village, Kognity and other platforms, citing its own 2025 survey of 2,000 student respondents.

Limitations

Results and AI marking

  • No grade guarantee: The terms state that RevisionDojo makes no guarantee about outcomes for essays, exam results or course grades and that using the service does not guarantee any grade improvement.
  • What the one-point figure measures: The 2026 survey behind it asked 364 students who sat exams in May 2026, includes 215 complete and 149 partial responses, and reports predicted grades rising from 4.81 to 5.58 across 1,168 matched subject ratings; the company describes the results as self-reported and observational.
  • Unofficial marks: The coursework mark is an AI estimate against the rubric, not an official IB grade.
  • Advisory outputs: The privacy policy says AI-generated grading, scores, explanations and feedback may be incomplete, inaccurate or inappropriate for some contexts and are advisory only.
  • Detector accuracy: The AI detector is not 100% accurate, and a high score is not proof that text was generated.

Caps and account rules

  • Daily grading cap: The coursework grader allows 5 submissions a day, and neither Plus nor Pro raises that cap.
  • No note downloads: Notes and lessons have no download or print button, and cheatsheets download as PDFs only on teacher accounts.
  • Watermarked papers: Every downloaded paper carries the account email as a watermark, and Pro paper downloads are capped at six different papers a day, or fifteen for a teacher on a school licence.
  • No account sharing: An account can be suspended for sharing without a warning, and for direct payers a permanent suspension also ends renewal with nothing refunded.
  • Academic integrity: The terms bar using the service to cheat, plagiarize or break academic integrity or examination rules.
  • Tutoring marketplace: RevisionDojo does not verify tutor credentials, run background checks or guarantee a tutor's suitability.

Independent review signals

As captured on October 4, 2026, a third-party review platform showed a 4.4 rating from 270 reviews, with 81% five-star and 9% one-star. That platform's AI summary of 139 recent reviews describes mostly positive experiences, while noting occasional inaccurate exam answers, technical errors and delayed support replies.

Privacy and data

  • Model training: The privacy policy says identifiable student work and student data are not used to train or fine-tune foundation AI models, and third-party AI providers may not train general models on prompts or outputs sent through its enterprise APIs.
  • Aggregated data: De-identified or aggregated usage information may still be used to improve the service and enhance RevisionDojo's AI models.
  • Children: For consumer users, the company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
  • Coursework files: Uploaded files are set by default to expire 48 hours after submission, while the report and comments stay.
  • Who sees coursework: Marking sends the text to the AI providers RevisionDojo uses, and staff accounts can open a submission, even after the file expires, to investigate a reported marking problem.
  • Checker scans: Text scanned in the checker is not added to any plagiarism database and is not used to train AI models.
  • Account deletion: Deletion has no grace period and cannot be undone, the email address stays blocked for 30 days, and an active subscription must be cancelled first.
  • Android data label: The developer's Android data-safety declaration says the app may share photos and videos, files and docs, and app activity with third parties, and lists data as not encrypted.

FAQ

Q1. Is RevisionDojo endorsed by the International Baccalaureate?

No. The site states that it was developed independently of the IBO and is not endorsed by it.

Q2. Is the coursework grader's mark an official IB grade?

No. RevisionDojo describes the mark as an AI estimate against the rubric, and its privacy policy calls AI-generated grading advisory only.

Q3. Does the free plan expire?

No. A free account keeps its weekly allowance of energy, notes, lessons and flashcard decks for as long as it is used, and no card is needed to sign up.

Q4. Can I get a refund on a RevisionDojo subscription?

Not for subscriptions bought directly from RevisionDojo, which are non-refundable. Cancelling stops the next charge, and access continues to the end of the paid period.

Q5. Is my coursework used to train AI models?

The privacy policy says identifiable student work is not used to train foundation models, and uploaded files expire after 48 hours by default unless that option is unticked.
