Remini is an AI photo enhancer that sharpens, restores and upscales photos and short videos, with a mobile app for iOS and Android and a browser version called Remini Web. Its mobile app also generates new portraits of you from a set of your own selfies.
Remini's website footer names AI Creativity S.r.l. in Milan, a sole shareholder company subject to the management and coordination of Bending Spoons S.p.A. Bending Spoons acquired the AI-powered photo enhancer during a run of acquisitions between 2014 and 2021. On the App Store, the app is listed as Remini - AI Photo Enhancer, sold by Bending Spoons Apps ApS, with the seller website pointing to Remini's own domain.
Remini Web relies on two different enhancement models depending on whether it recognises a face or another element, which is why faces and surroundings can come out at different quality levels. On the web, an AI toolbar lets you rebalance the result: Face Enhance, Beautify filters for faces, Background Enhance (its v1 version is applied by default, with a lighter Base filter option), Color Correction, and saved pre-applied settings.
AI Photos asks for 8 to 12 images to teach the AI what a person looks like, after which it can generate many different photos of that person. Each set of results follows the style and pose of a model image picked from dozens of options, such as a new CV photo or a version of yourself as a baby.
In a November 14, 2025 press release, Bending Spoons announced that Remini had integrated Google's Gemini Flash Image model, also known as Nano Banana, via Vertex AI. The release does not say which features use the model.
Remini's AI works best on faces and face-on images, and results can disappoint on media that is too damaged or low quality, on faces that are too blurred, and on the back or silhouette of a person. When AI Photos look disproportionate, Remini advises uploading pictures that are not zoomed in on the face, and trying a different model image.

Feature availability is split by surface. Remini's generative AI for creating hyper-realistic photos of yourself is available only on mobile, while professional enhancement is offered on Remini Web. The mobile app also does not yet support batch enhancement, which on the web is a Business feature.
Subscriptions do not carry over freely between surfaces. A subscription started on Remini Web cannot be synced to the Remini mobile app. In the other direction, only higher mobile in-app plans include access to Remini Web, redeemed through the WEB button in the app. Remini cannot be used offline because it needs an internet connection to process media.
| Plan | Photo allowance (weekly / monthly / yearly plan) | Output formats | Other listed features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | 20 / 80 / 1,040 photos | JPG | Video enhance; no watermark after download |
| Business | Unlimited | JPG, PNG, TIFF | Video enhance; no watermark; high-priority processing speed; commercial use |
Video enhancement has its own caps, counted per single video and per week:
| Plan | Single video limit | Weekly limit |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | 60MB or 60 seconds | 240MB or 240 seconds |
| Business | 120MB or 120 seconds | 480 MB or 480 seconds |
Remini Web shows its prices on the paywall in USD, and the actual charge may vary with your currency and the exchange rate. The paywall sits behind the Log In / Sign Up step. Web subscriptions renew automatically every week, month or year unless cancelled from your profile.
Remini says there is no fixed price list for the mobile app, because each user may see unique offers that change over time and prices differ by duration and promotion. As captured on October 5, 2026, the US App Store listing shows in-app purchases including Remini Pro Weekly at $9.99, Remini Lite Weekly at $4.99, $5.99 and $7.99, and a 1 Month item at $9.99. The Google Play listing marks Remini as containing ads and offering in-app purchases.
The App Store's similar-apps list for Remini includes PhotoBoost, Unblur, Pixelup and YouCam Enhance, each pitched as an AI photo enhancer for unblurring, restoring or clearing photos.
A review platform lists Aragon AI and HeadshotPro among companies people also looked at alongside Remini's website, each showing 4.7 there (from about 7K and 4K reviews respectively) as captured on October 5, 2026. That listing reflects browsing overlap on the platform, not a feature comparison.
Inside Remini itself, the main choice is between surfaces: web Business for batch work, commercial use and Photoshop, or a higher mobile plan if you also want AI Photos.
Remini acknowledges that AI Photos results may not live up to expectations and may present flaws. A July 2023 independent tech report described users finding that the viral AI headshots made unwelcome changes to their bodies, such as making some women look much skinnier. Earlier, a December 2020 hands-on review in photography media found restoration errors, such as mishandled glasses and slightly over-sharpened eyes, while praising the overall result. Both predate later model changes, including the 2025 Gemini integration, so they describe reported failure modes rather than current measurements.
As captured on October 5, 2026, the US App Store shows an average rating of about 4.6 from roughly 355,000 ratings and a 4+ age rating. On the same capture date, Google Play shows a 4.1 rating from 5.89M reviews, 500M+ downloads and an Everyone content rating. The Remini website's profile on a review platform shows a 1.5 score from 71 reviews, is unclaimed, and notes the company has not invited customers, so those reviews may not be representative. The store age ratings sit alongside a policy and Terms minimum age of 16.
Partly. The app offers limited free access and its Google Play listing shows ads and in-app purchases; premium tools sit behind paid plans, and some features need extra credit packs.
Remini Web's Business plan lists commercial use, while the general Terms license the service for personal and non-commercial purposes.
Not by default. Remini says images and videos are used for training only if you explicitly opt in, and its web privacy policy lists opted-in user images among its training datasets.
It depends on the surface. In the app, enhancement uploads are deleted after one day and AI-generation uploads after up to 20 or 7 days from last use; on the web, uploads are deleted after 15 days unless needed for a requested feature.
