What is Zawa AI?

The product behind the slug x-design is now published under the name Zawa, and the about page frames the change as a repositioning of the same product rather than the launch of a different one. Requests to www.x-design.com resolve to the renamed site, and every documented sub-path follows the same redirect.

Zawa AI describes itself as an on-brand AI agent for social content that creates logos, posters, social media posts and videos, with brand assets stored once and applied automatically across later projects. That stored kit is the product idea: later assets inherit the colours, typography and logo already on file. As an AI brand kit generator it targets the weekly work of keeping a small business consistent across a menu, a poster and a social carousel.

The terms of service name Starii Tech Pty Ltd as the contracting party, while the footer that appears on every public page prints the operator as Starii Technology Pty Ltd. The address given for legal notices is in Sydney, New South Wales.

Core features

Brand kit and style guide

A single prompt carrying the business name and a few ideas is meant to return a complete brand identity: logo, colour palette, typography and a style guide. The style guide arrives as an HTML document holding logo variations, colour codes, typography rules, spacing guidelines and visual examples — easy to send as a link, but not a layered source file, so a designer receives rules rather than editable artwork.

Finished logo files export as JPG, PNG and SVG with no watermark, which is what makes the free tier usable for a first pass rather than a teaser. Menus export as high-resolution PNG or JPEG for print, as PDF, or as HTML for a page a QR code can point at.

Around those outputs sits an editing suite: background removal, object removal, image extension, HD and UHD enhancement, and 2×, 4× and 8× upscaling, marked in the plan table as uncapped on paid tiers and limited on free.

What each generation costs

Every generation is priced in credits, and the price varies by an order of magnitude depending on which engine runs behind the prompt. The plan comparison table publishes a per-generation credit price for each named engine.

Engine as listed in the plan tableCredits per image
In-house image editing model3
In-house image generation model5
Seededit 3.08
Seedream 4.0, Seedream 4.512
Nano Banana, Midjourney13
Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, GPT Image 1.5, GPT Image 2.030

Video is where credits disappear fastest: eight credits for a video edit, seventy credits per five seconds on the in-house video model, and three hundred credits per five seconds on the most expensive third-party engine in the table. Kling 3.0 is listed at 100 credits per five seconds, Sora 2 at 160 and Seedance 2.0 at 180, and the premium video engines show a dash in the free column.

Guide

Building a brand kit from scratch

  1. Step one asks for the business name, a one-line description or tagline, and a preferred style or mood. It is the only text input the flow requires.
  2. Step two generates several logo directions with colour palettes, typography pairings and layout examples, previewed as mockups before you commit.
  3. Step three exports the logo files, templates and scalable assets together with the HTML style guide — the artefact you hand to a teammate or a vendor.

Because the AI logo generator hands back SVG, step three is the moment to archive files outside the platform, since access to stored assets is tied to an active account.

Working inside the credit budget

Generative tools run on monthly soft limits that reset at the start of each calendar month, and once a quota is exhausted the tool keeps working by drawing on credits. The pricing FAQ separates basic tools, which carry high limits, from generative tools such as background generation, logo creation, recolouring, image extension and video, which carry the soft limits.

Use cases and examples

A café refreshing a seasonal drinks board is the scenario the product pages are written around, and it is also the scenario where the licence boundary bites hardest. The social post and the website banner sit inside what a paid subscription permits; the printed A-frame board outside the door does not.

Turning a phone photo of a dish into a usable product shot and dropping it into a realistic setting is the second recurring scenario, and for a small restaurant it replaces either a photographer or a visibly amateur listing.

For a catalogue refresh the batch editor is the part that saves real hours, because it processes an entire collection in one pass instead of one file at a time. Applying the same background treatment, crop and enhancement across dozens of items is what an AI product photo editor is actually good at.

Who is it for

The fit is strongest for an owner-operator who publishes to screens every week and has no designer on call. Brand memory pays off only once there are enough assets for consistency to become a problem, so a café, a bar or a small online seller gets more from it than an occasional user. It also fits a social media manager running several small accounts, since a stored kit per brand removes the manual step of re-applying colours and fonts on every post.

The free tier is metered rather than trial-limited: sixty credits a day, twenty image generations a day, five seconds of video a day and two brand set generations. That is enough to judge output quality honestly before paying.

It fits less well in three situations. A business whose main output is printed or physical — packaging, labels, merchandise, printed advertising — runs into the licence boundary described below. A team that needs layered source files gets an HTML style guide and flat exports instead. And an organisation needing bulk programmatic generation is pointed elsewhere: above the self-service tiers sits an enterprise option described as a custom API solution that integrates with an existing business, priced through a contact-sales conversation.

Platforms

A subscription and its credits follow the account across the browser tools and both mobile apps, but that portability stops at the app store boundary. Free and paid features may differ by platform, and credits bought for API use are a separate pool usable only through the API.

A subscription or credit purchase made in the build installed from one app store is not recognised in the same app installed from the other. That is stated in the terms rather than merely implied.

The iOS build is published as Zawa: AI Video & Social Post by Starii Tech Pty Ltd, rated 4+ and requiring iOS 13.0 or later. The Android listing sits in a 100K+ download band, carries an Everyone content rating and declares in-app purchases.

Pricing

Read the plan cards carefully, because the number shown first is an annual price expressed per month, not the price of a monthly plan. The page opens in the yearly billing state with a 40% OFF badge attached, and in that state the three paid tiers read $6, $21 and $42 per month against annual totals of $72, $252 and $504 — one annual commitment described two ways, not two options. Switching the toggle to monthly billing replaces those figures with ten, thirty and sixty dollars a month and removes the annual total entirely.

PlanAnnual billingMonthly billingCredits included
Free$0$060 credits daily
Plus$6/mo ($72/year)$10/mo800 credits/mo
Pro$21/mo ($252/year)$30/mo3500 credits/mo
Max$42/mo ($504/year)$60/mo8000 credits/mo

The three paid tiers carry 800, 3500 and 8000 credits a month, each valid for one month and usable on every supported platform. "Valid for one month" is the part to notice: the allowance is a monthly grant, not a balance that accumulates.

Top-up packs are sold to members only, from 400 credits for $8 up to 20000 credits for $200 — a top-up mechanism for subscribers rather than a pay-as-you-go entry route. Payments run through Stripe, with major credit cards and Google Pay accepted, and nonprofit organisations are stated to be eligible for a discount.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation has to be completed at least 24 hours before the next billing cycle, and the credits included with a paid plan are frozen rather than kept until the subscriber resubscribes.

Refunds are described three times on official pages, with three different scopes. The refund page limits the seven-day money-back guarantee to the Pro plan when unused, plus unused credits. The pricing FAQ states the same clause as covering the Pro and Max plans, and adds that purchases made through either app store must be refunded by that store and that the policy does not apply to API users. The terms of service, meanwhile, state that payments are non-refundable to the extent applicable law permits, with no refunds or credits for partial subscription periods or unused content. These pages are inconsistent with one another, and this page reports that rather than picking a winner.

Changing tier is a purchase rather than a setting: an upgrade refunds the remaining balance of the current plan into the account, a downgrade requires contacting support to recover it, and both take effect immediately.

Alternatives to consider

If printed collateral is the whole point of the purchase, the licence text matters more than the generation quality, and Canva and Looka take visibly different positions on it.

Canva publishes a content licence whose permitted uses explicitly name printed materials and product packaging, for promotion or resale, without a reproduction quantity limit. For a business whose deliverables end up on a label, a box or an A-frame board, that clause can outweigh every difference in image quality.

Looka sells an annual brand kit at $96 a year and states that ownership of the logo survives the end of that subscription — a narrower product than a full design agent, but a clearer answer to what remains yours after you stop paying.

Two questions separate candidates faster than output tests:

  • Does the licence permit physical reproduction, or only digital use?
  • Do the rights to what you generate survive cancellation, and in what form?

Limitations

The gap between what the marketing pages invite you to make and what the licence text permits you to do with it is the single most important thing to check before adopting this tool. The default position in the terms is personal and non-commercial use of content handled through the service.

Taking a paid subscription unlocks commercial use, but only as digital reproduction on websites, online advertisements, social media, mobile applications, software, e-publications, audio-visual productions and online media. That list is generous for anything on a screen and silent about anything on paper or on an object.

The same clause withholds any right to use, incorporate or print the supplied template and asset library in physical form, naming merchandise, product packaging and labelling, letterhead and business cards among the exclusions. The AI terms addendum repeats the personal and non-commercial default for the AI features and the content they generate, subject to whatever the main terms expressly permit.

Other boundaries worth knowing:

  • Content policy. Content containing gambling, violence, discrimination, nudity, eroticism or sexual innuendo is forbidden outright, and no official page offers an adult or unrestricted mode.
  • Age. The service is stated to be unavailable to people under 13, or under 16 in certain jurisdictions, with guardian permission required up to 18.
  • Jurisdiction. The contracting entity is registered in Australia, yet the agreement is governed by the laws of Hong Kong and sends disputes to the exclusive jurisdiction of Hong Kong.

On user sentiment the public evidence is thin. The Android listing showed an aggregate rating of 3.5 across 477 reviews when this page was checked. That is a large enough sample to note, but an aggregate score is not a diagnosis of any particular defect. The launch-platform profile showed 4.3 across only six reviews, far too small to support a quality conclusion. No bylined reporting from established technology publications was found in the channels checked for this page.

Data, rights and privacy

Ownership of what you upload stays with you, but the licence you grant in exchange is unusually broad and does not expire when you stop paying. The terms disclaim any ownership of user content while taking a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, worldwide, royalty-free and sublicensable licence over it, for operating the service and for optimising and improving its functions including its AI features.

Inputs to and outputs from the AI features are processed and stored for the stated purpose of monitoring and preventing abusive or harmful use. The privacy policy contains no statement either way about whether user content is used to train models; that absence is reported here as an absence rather than filled in.

Facial feature information including facial images may be collected and processed with face recognition technology, and biometric information covered by the Illinois statute is deleted within three years of the last interaction with the service.

Deletion is tied to account closure: personal information is deleted promptly on termination of the account, subject to applicable law and the operator's business or legal purposes. The policy also states that in the preceding twelve months no personal information was sold as defined by the California statute and none was shared for cross-context behavioural advertising, and it sets a children's floor of 16 — a different figure from the age floor in the terms, which starts at 13.

FAQ

Q1. Is Zawa the same product as X-Design?

Yes. The about page describes X-Design as the earlier name of the same product, and the registered website address redirects to the renamed site.

Q2. Can I use what I generate for my business?

Only within the licence you hold. The default in the terms is personal and non-commercial use; a paid subscription adds commercial use as digital reproduction on screens. Physical reproduction of the supplied asset library — merchandise, packaging and labelling, letterhead, business cards — is expressly withheld.

Q3. What does a plan actually cost per month?

It depends on the billing state shown. On monthly billing the three paid tiers are ten, thirty and sixty dollars a month; on yearly billing they show six, twenty-one and forty-two dollars a month against annual totals, which is one annual commitment expressed two ways.

Q4. What happens to my credits if I cancel?

They are frozen until you resubscribe, and cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the next billing cycle. The terms state that payments are non-refundable to the extent applicable law permits, while the marketing pages describe a seven-day guarantee whose scope differs between the refund page and the pricing FAQ.

Q5. Does it handle adult or unrestricted content?

No. The terms forbid producing, storing or posting content containing nudity, eroticism or sexual innuendo, and both app store listings carry general-audience ratings consistent with that policy.
