VanceAI is an AI image and video processing suite with browser workspaces, a Windows application for local image processing, and cloud desktop access. Its image tools cover enlargement, sharpening, denoising, background removal, and old-photo repair. The browser image workspace supports enhancement, editing, and batch processing; the separate video workspace handles video enlargement, restoration, and transformation without a software download.
Photo enhancement includes an image upscaler, blur correction, noise reduction, and photo restoration for damaged scans. Video tools add enlargement, denoising, motion smoothing, and HDR conversion. These are vendor-described capabilities, rather than independent measurements of reconstruction quality.
The video upscaler has model-specific output choices. Nexa is presented for general-purpose upscaling with scale and fixed-resolution options. Cineva targets cinematic restoration at 1x, 2x, or 4x; Aniva targets anime and animation at 2x or 4x. Nexa additionally lists 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 4K output, subject to source and output limits.
Video Autopilot combines selectable denoising, upscaling, motion smoothing, and HDR conversion in a single workflow. Its processing order is Denoiser, Upscaler, Smoother, then HDR. Each selected stage remains independently configurable.
VanceAI describes a print workflow that repairs damage first, optionally creates a separate colorized copy, and then upscales the result for a larger print. Colorization is optional and separate from scratch repair.
| Route | Supported environment | Processing and access model |
|---|---|---|
| Browser workspaces | Browser access without a software download | Separate image and video workspaces; web credits |
| VanceAI Local / VanceAI for PC | Windows x64 | Supported image models run locally after model installation |
| VanceAI Cloud desktop app | Windows x64 and Apple silicon macOS | Cloud video processing; internet required |
| VanceAI Lite desktop page | Windows x64 and Apple silicon macOS | Free client download; cloud AI tasks consume the shared web balance |
The desktop naming is not fully uniform across current entry points. The download center calls its lightweight client VanceAI Cloud, while the linked desktop page calls it VanceAI Lite. That page describes the same account and web credit balance, no separate app fee, and cloud processing rather than downloading large local models. “Free desktop app” refers to the client, with credits still consumed when cloud AI tasks run.
The download center says supported Local image models can run locally once their required files are installed. Cloud requires internet access while uploading and processing video tasks.
The desktop hardware help page lists Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit only, with 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended, and 32GB optimal. It gives separate CPU-mode and GPU-mode hardware requirements for the local product.
The API uses a unified asynchronous job resource for images and video. An application supplies a file or public URL, polls the job status, and downloads the result. API v1 has no webhooks. Request-rate limits apply per key, while concurrent-job limits apply across the account and count both queued and processing jobs.
The annual web plans below were displayed on October 29, 2026. The current offer adds 30% bonus credits to each monthly allocation and advertises a 25% annual-plan saving. The monthly amount is the displayed equivalent for annual billing; it is not the charge for a separately selected monthly subscription.
| Annual web plan | Monthly credit allocation | Displayed monthly equivalent | Amount billed annually |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 260: 200 plus 60 bonus | $15 | $180 |
| Popular | 650: 500 plus 150 bonus | $30 | $360 |
| Creator | 1,300: 1,000 plus 300 bonus | $45 | $540 |
| Studio | 2,600: 2,000 plus 600 bonus | $75 | $900 |
Paid web jobs skip the free-tier queue and keep processing in the background. Paid results are described as watermark-free, and one balance covers image and video workspaces. The image upscaler advertises ten free credits; its online scale options cost one credit at 2x, two at 4x, or three at 8x.
The rest of the image suite has different rates. The current web table lists one credit for sharpening, denoising, or background removal. Cartoonizer, passport photos, and photo-to-sketch cost three credits for 1K/2K or ten for 4K. Restoration costs four for 1K/2K or ten for 4K, while Custom Style costs four or ten at those same labeled resolutions. The colorizer row lists four credits for “≤4K” and eight for “4K.” The pricing notes distinguish standard input up to 4K at the lower rate from 4K output at the higher rate.
That detailed table is inconsistent with a separate pricing FAQ that describes image processing or downloading as costing one to three credits depending on the tool. Both statements remain published; the FAQ's general range does not match every current tool row. The stated one-to-three range cannot describe restoration, 4K cartoonization, or other higher-rate entries in that same table.
Subscription credits roll over while the subscription remains active and expire when it ends. Pay-as-you-go is a one-time purchase, with credits valid for a year. Cancellation is available through Unsubscribe in the account dashboard; remaining subscription credits can be used until the subscription period ends. The refund help page states that subscriptions renew automatically by default and that cancellation stops later bills rather than creating an automatic refund.
| Windows desktop plan | Displayed price | Renewal and included web credits |
|---|---|---|
| One month | $39.90 | Renews monthly; 100 free web credits |
| One year | $99.90 | Renews annually; 200 free web credits |
| Lifetime | $129.90 | Pay once; 300 free web credits |
Each desktop plan licenses one PC. The lifetime offer also displays $199.90 alongside the current amount and a “Save 35%” label. Local processing is described as unlimited, without credit consumption or a queue, accepting images of any size; the bundled web credits are a separate benefit for cloud use. The Cloud/Lite client has no separate app fee and spends web credits when cloud tasks run.
API credits are separate from web app credits. API access requires an API plan from the account dashboard, so the web allocations and desktop bonus credits above are not presented as API allowances.
A refund request within seven days is supported under the published help policy. For a first request, usage below 10% of the monthly credits qualifies for a full refund; usage above 10% leads to a deduction calculated at $0.1 for each used credit. The policy also lists eligible and excluded circumstances, so its seven-day window is not an unconditional change-of-mind guarantee.
Excluded examples include changing one's mind, not trying or reading the product description, missing the exchange deadline for a wrong product, and requests beyond the guarantee window, including renewal orders. Listed refundable situations include dissatisfaction after trying the product and communicating with support, duplicate purchases, replacing a wrong order with the correct product within the refund period, and charges after auto-renewal was canceled before the renewal date.
A refund combined with subscription cancellation empties remaining credits and downgrades the account to Free. If a refund occurs without cancellation, the treatment of remaining credits depends on communication with customer service, and VanceAI reserves discretion to clear them. Cancellation, a refund decision, and the remaining credit balance are therefore distinct parts of the policy.
GIMP and Photopea offer different platform and processing models for broader image editing.
The homepage states that uploads across every model are encrypted in transit and permanently deleted within 24 hours. The video upscaler separately states that processed files can be downloaded for seven days. The published scopes and durations differ: the upload deletion statement is separate from access to processed video results. Neither statement establishes the retention of every category of account or usage data.
The privacy policy lists contact details, account login credentials, payment information, customer-support communications, and favorites among personal data. It also says usage data may include IP addresses, browser details, visit times, device identifiers, and diagnostic information. Service providers may access personal data to perform tasks on VanceAI's behalf and are stated to be barred from disclosing or using it for other purposes.
VanceAI's terms allow photos edited with its services and software to be used commercially and non-commercially. The same terms prohibit uploading or importing images without the legal rights or copyright to do so, and importing or copying local files without the legal right to perform that action. The edited-photo permission is separate from the stated source-material obligations.
No. The cloud client is free to download and has no separate application fee, but cloud AI tasks consume the shared web credit balance. Paid local Windows plans have a different processing model and license one PC.
No. The pricing FAQ separates web and API credits and directs API users to an API plan in the account dashboard. A web subscription's monthly allocation is not an API allocation.
No. Cancellation stops future billing, while refunds have a seven-day window and additional usage and eligibility conditions. A refund with cancellation also clears remaining credits and returns the account to Free.
