What is Teal?

Teal is a browser-based career platform for individual job seekers that combines an AI resume builder, a job application tracker and a Chrome extension for saving job listings. The product is positioned around creating an ATS-friendly resume in minutes and then producing a customized version for every job a user applies to.

Teal is run by Teal Labs, Inc., whose terms define the service as its websites, Teal+, applications, browser extensions, AI features, career services, community services and other tools that help professionals manage their job search and career growth. That scope is aimed at the person looking for work, not at an employer's HR or recruiting team.

The company was founded by Dave Fano. A July 2020 technology press report said Teal had closed a $5 million seed round led by Flybridge Capital. Ramped, a platform built to automate job applications, now states on its own site that it has been acquired by Teal.

Official pages disagree on scale. The homepage says Teal is loved by over 4 million members. The About page instead lists 678K+ Teal Members, 2.8M+ jobs bookmarked and 934K+ resumes created.

Core features

The features share one account: a job saved through the extension lands in the tracker, and the AI interview coach later draws on the job descriptions saved there.

Resume building and analysis

• Import and versions: Users can upload an existing resume or import from LinkedIn, then use a drag-and-drop editor to choose which experiences and sections appear on each resume version.
• Unlimited PDF resumes: The free resume builder allows creating, editing and exporting unlimited resumes as PDFs.
• Design Mode: Templates can be customized for fonts, colors, layout, spacing and section order while staying on an ATS-friendly base.

Job tracking and the Chrome extension

• Saving from 40+ boards: The Chrome extension saves jobs from 40+ job boards, including Indeed, Glassdoor and BuiltIn, into one job application tracker that also holds applications, contacts and companies.
• Role insights: While browsing a posting, the extension shows insights on salary, skills and match quality for the role.
• Super Search: Super Search opens every job listing that matches a chosen job title, location and set of preferred boards in one click.

AI writing and interview practice

AI writing covers resume bullets, professional summaries and cover letters, metered by credits on the free plan. On Teal+, users can choose one of several generated responses or further customize the AI prompt to steer the output.

Interview preparation builds on the same saved jobs. The AI interview coach analyzes saved job descriptions to create personalized practice sessions for the exact role. Practice formats include initial screenings, technical discussions and cultural fit conversations. Sessions can be recorded with video, live transcripts and AI-powered feedback.

Building a tailored resume

The Teal resume builder follows four steps: start or import, add and edit, choose a template, then tailor and export.

1. Start from a blank resume, upload an existing file or import a LinkedIn profile.
2. Add and edit every section in one editor, using the AI writing tools where credits allow.
3. Apply an ATS-friendly template and adjust it in Design Mode.
4. Compare the version with the target job description, then export it as a PDF.

Collecting jobs with the extension

1. Install the Teal extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Open Super Search, enter a job title and location, and pick the boards to include.
3. Bookmark promising roles straight into the Job Tracker.
4. From the dashboard, users can track progress and set weekly goals for both applications and saves.

Autofilling applications

1. Install the Chrome extension.
2. Import professional details from a resume or LinkedIn profile into the Resume Builder.
3. Teal's AI then detects and fills out job applications across major job boards.
4. Answers drafted by AI can always be reviewed and edited before the application is submitted.

Who is it for

Teal fits people running their own job search:

• High-volume applicants: Unlimited resume versions, match scores and the ATS checker suit candidates who tailor a resume to every listing.
• Multi-board searchers: The extension and tracker give one pipeline to anyone finding roles across many job boards.
• Interview preparers: Role-specific mock interviews cover screenings, technical rounds and culture-fit conversations.
• Networkers: Checklists, email templates and the Networking CRM support searches that rely on referrals and follow-ups.

Several conditions narrow the fit:

• Adults only: Users must represent that they are at least 18 years of age.
• Personal use: The service is licensed solely for personal use and not for resale unless otherwise agreed in writing, so it is not built for resellers or recruiting agencies.
• North American resume norms: Templates are designed to meet US and Canadian resume standards, which typically do not include photos, so photo CVs expected in some other regions are not their target.
• Language: Teal does not yet offer a way to change language settings.

Teal runs as a web app in the browser; the job search Chrome extension adds saving, Super Search and autofill on top of it.

• Google account connection: Connecting Google is optional, and Teal uses read-only access that cannot create, edit or delete information in Google Contacts or Calendar.

Free versus Teal+

Official pages describe the free allowances in different ways. The pricing comparison caps free users at 10 resume templates, while the homepage's free-plan list says unlimited resume templates. That homepage list also names unlimited resumes and job tracking, top 5 keywords, 1 email template per job stage and limited AI credits for the free plan.

The help center frames the AI allowance differently again: there is no general free trial, and the free version lets users try 5 AI credits for achievements, 2 cover letter generations and 2 professional summary generations. The pricing table lists 10 credits for AI resume bullets rather than 5.

Billing periods and renewal

• Periods: The terms list weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Teal+ billing periods and point to the pricing page for current prices.
• Annual plan: The homepage says Teal+ is billed every week, month or quarterly, and no annual price appears in the pricing captured on September 28, 2026.
• Auto-renewal: Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate unless cancelled before the renewal date, and the renewal charge occurs within 24 hours of the end of the billing period.
• Price changes: Teal may change subscription prices at any time and promises advance email notice of any increase before the next renewal date.

Cancellation and refunds

• Where to cancel: Subscriptions are cancelled from account settings under Teal+ Subscription.
• When it ends: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, Teal+ access continues until then, and no further charges are made.
• Confirming it: Teal is not responsible for recurring subscriptions a member fails to cancel, and the customer must confirm the cancellation.
• The banner: A red banner in account settings shows the date when the subscription is set to cancel.
• Refunds are separate: Cancellation does not automatically entitle a user to a refund, and refunds are requested by email with the reason and the account email address.
• Refund windows: Requests must be made within 2 calendar days of the billing period start on weekly plans, 7 on monthly plans, and 14 on quarterly or annual plans.
• No guarantee: Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval, because refunds are reviewed case by case.

Teal alternatives

Jobscan and Huntr come up repeatedly as comparison points for Teal: Jobscan for ATS keyword analysis and Huntr for job tracking.

• Jobscan: Jobscan says it detects the applicant tracking system used on each job posting and tailors its recommendations to that system's parsing rules. It also matches hard skills, soft skills and keywords from a job listing against a resume.
• Huntr: Huntr offers a free plan and lists Huntr Pro at $30 per month billed quarterly or $40 per month billed monthly. Its free plan tracks up to 100 jobs, whereas Teal's homepage lists unlimited job tracking on the free plan.

On list prices, 30 days of Teal+ at $29 costs less than Huntr Pro billed monthly at $40, while Huntr's quarterly rate of $30 per month sits close to Teal's $79 for 90 days.

Limitations

• PDF export only: Teal currently only offers resume export as PDF.
• Own templates only: Teal exclusively uses its own editable templates, so an existing resume design cannot be brought in as a template.
• No references section: Teal does not offer a dedicated References section.
• Manual keyword changes: Keywords in a resume are not automatically replaced; the AI tools suggest keywords and the user edits the text.
• Rewriting is described inconsistently: The help center says Teal does not write or re-write resumes. The pricing page, however, lists a Resume Rewriter that rewrites resumes with AI.
• AI output needs checking: The terms state that AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies or unsuitable content, and users are responsible for reviewing and verifying them before use.
• Arbitration: Disputes go to individual arbitration rather than jury trials or class actions, unless the user opts out by email within 30 days after first accepting the terms.

On a third-party review platform, an AI-generated summary considering 57 reviews was mostly positive but noted limitations in visual design options, tracking details and custom table columns. As captured on September 28, 2026, the same platform showed a 4.2 score from 116 reviews and flagged that the company had not invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative.

Privacy, data and AI training

• AI providers: Teal may send content to third-party AI service providers such as OpenAI for processing.
• Model improvement: The privacy policy says career content may be used to improve Teal's AI models and services in anonymized and aggregated form.
• Training boundary: The terms say identifiable resumes, cover letters and similar career documents are not used to train general-purpose AI models for other customers, while aggregated, de-identified usage patterns may be used.
• Google data: Teal does not use Google Workspace API data to train generalized or non-personalized AI models.
• Ownership: Users keep ownership of the content they create or upload, including resumes, cover letters, job descriptions and notes.
• Export and deletion: Job tracker data can be exported from the Job Tracker menu and resumes one at a time as PDF, and deleted data cannot be recovered.
• Disconnecting Google: Disconnecting Google stops future access but does not delete information that was previously imported or derived.
• Account deletion: After an account is deleted, personal information is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is required.
