TabSquare is a restaurant technology suite from Tabsquare Pte. Ltd, part of Delivery Hero, covering QR and kiosk ordering, payments, POS and delivery integrations, guest marketing and outlet reporting. Plans are tiered by outlet count and sold on a subscription plus per-transaction commission.
TabSquare is a restaurant technology suite covering the in-store guest journey end to end: menu discovery, ordering from a phone or kiosk, payment, kitchen routing, guest marketing and outlet reporting. The contracting entity is Tabsquare Pte. Ltd and its related companies, and the same product is served identically at tabsquare.com and tabsquare.ai. It is unrelated to Square or Square for Restaurants, a separate company that keyword searches surface alongside it.
The company describes itself as a service provider for AI-powered in-restaurant technology solutions that leverage data and deep learning algorithms in the F&B industry.
TabSquare states on its About page that it is part of the Delivery Hero family, the group that also owns the foodpanda delivery brand in Asia. Trade-press coverage of a July 2023 announcement describes the two companies jointly offering restaurant solutions, starting with Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan — which explains why delivery-aggregator routing sits in the same product as dine-in ordering. The vendor states its solutions are trusted by 7,000+ restaurants and power over 23 million diner interactions yearly: company-published figures with no independent audit attached.
The Terms of Service define the licensed "Solutions" as including, but not limited to, SmartTab, SmartWeb, SmartKiosk, SmartConnect and SmartPay. The site wraps more named modules around those, and what matters is which are sold openly and which are gated.
Vibe, the most heavily promoted module, is labelled "By invite only" on its own page: TabSquare offers tailored walkthroughs for restaurants wanting a story-led menu experience, but there is no trial.
MunchMate, the marketing side, is described as a platform that helps a business acquire and re-engage customers through AI-driven insights tailored to their taste profiles, and its call to action is "Join the waitlist". Targeting is built on more than 100 customer signals such as order history, dietary preferences and spending patterns, which the vendor says delivers campaigns with 3x higher redemption rates than generic promotions. The stated implementation window is one to two weeks for most brands.
SmartConnect consolidates delivery-platform orders, POS traffic and in-store operations into one flow. SmartQ handles queue management with live updates and display screens. SmartAnalytics and the plan reporting tiers turn order data into menu, outlet and guest-level insight. Tabsquare Console, a second Android application, receives real-time orders from kiosks and ordering partners and drives receipt printers.
TabSquare integrates with leading POS systems, payment providers and delivery platforms, and its integrations directory is organised into POS, payment, CRM and aggregator buckets. Partner logos render as images rather than text, so name your POS and gateway in the first sales call.
There is no self-serve trial for the full suite, so a rollout is sales-led.
Two habits pay off immediately. Reconcile settlement fast: an incorrect payout must be reported within five working days, and liability is limited to that window. And watch fee-change notices: revised payment gateway rates take effect 15 calendar days from notification unless you object inside that window.
Full-service dine-in. A table QR scan replaces both the menu delivery and the order-taking trip, and pay-at-table clears the bill without a counter queue.
Quick service and food courts. The kiosk track carries the same ordering and payment logic to the counter. The most concrete published outcome is a named customer statement on the solutions page: a Singapore operator of a global quick-service brand describes self-service ordering as boosting the average order size by 30% at Jollibee — a vendor-published quote, not an independently measured result.
Retention marketing. The marketing module sends win-back offers to diners who have not visited in 60 days, which makes this the part of the suite most dependent on capturing diner identity at the point of order.
Consolidating delivery-aggregator tablets. Aggregator routing lives in the same product as dine-in ordering, so a group running several delivery apps on separate devices can collapse them.
TabSquare segments its own market by outlet count, which is the clearest guide to fit.
Best fit: multi-outlet food and beverage groups in Asia-Pacific that already run a POS they intend to keep, have order volume enough for a percentage transaction fee to pay for itself, and can sign a multi-year deal.
Poor fit, for reasons the terms make explicit. A single independent café wanting a month-to-month tool faces a licence that auto-extends in two-year renewal periods, with early exit requiring payment of the subscription fees for the entire unexpired initial term. Operators outside the ten listed countries absorb travel costs for on-site work, procurement teams needing a named security certification will not find one, and no one can trial Vibe or MunchMate first.
| Surface | How it is accessed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Diner ordering | Browser, via QR scan | No app install on the diner's phone |
| Self-service kiosk | Android application, Smart Kiosk Tabsquare | Published under the developer name Tabsquare Pte Ltd |
| Kitchen and merchant console | Android application, Tabsquare Console | Receives real-time orders from kiosks and ordering partners |
| Merchant back office | Browser sign-in for existing merchants | Menu, availability and reporting |
| Developer access | Separate developer portal | Linked from support as API documentation and resources |
Coverage is stated as 10 Countries across Asia and beyond: Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand, Philippines, New Zealand and Brunei. The marketing module has a narrower footprint — it currently operates in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia only.
Support is narrower still. Global channels are email-based, with general support promising a response within 24 hours plus a separate payment team, available Monday - Sunday | 7AM - 12AM SGT. Local messaging and phone channels exist for five markets only: Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Four plans are published, segmented by outlet count. In this round's check the pricing page rendered Singapore-dollar amounts; the figures shown can differ by market, so confirm the number for your own country.
| Plan | Suggested size | Price shown in this check | Signature inclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting Out | 1-3 outlets | SGD 0 per location per month | Runs without POS integration, standard QR, payment integration, daily reports |
| Growing Hot | 4-10 outlets | SGD 49 per location per month | Orders sent to POS, AI bill-value uplift, delivery partners, outlet insight |
| Scaling Up | 11-30 outlets | SGD 149 per location per month | Menu sync from POS, brand-level menus, customer-level insight |
| Industry Leader | 30+ outlets | Custom | Custom POS integration, advanced CRM, 99.9% uptime, account manager |
The subscription line is only part of the cost. The contract adds a transaction fee calculated as a percentage commission on the transaction value of each Order placed by customers via the Solutions, so total cost scales with revenue rather than outlet count alone; partner and gateway charges sit on top.
Payment terms are tighter than typical SaaS: invoices are due 7 days from the invoice date without offset or deduction, and overdue balances can carry interest at two percent per month. Refunds are merchant-instructed, with no commission taken on a refunded order and a reasonable administrative fee reserved for handling it.
Two axes matter more than a feature grid: contract shape, and whether you need a named security certification.
For smaller operators who find a tiered subscription plus percentage commission hard to model, flat-rate regional platforms are the natural comparison. Qashier, based in Singapore, sells its entire platform — selling, payments, loyalty, delivery, bookings and reporting — at a single price of 5 dollars a day, states it is trusted by 25,000+ merchants across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, and is a Major Payment Institution licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
For enterprise groups whose procurement requires audited security posture, the comparison is Aigens, an Asia-Pacific platform publishing PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, an open API with 30+ POS integrations, and a 15-minute response time target for all support tickets. Across the ten TabSquare pages checked in this round no security certification is named.
TabSquare still fits multi-outlet groups wanting ordering, payments, aggregator routing and guest marketing from one vendor inside its ten-country footprint. But if the decision hinges on predictable monthly cost, a short contract or certification evidence, settle those points first.
On-site maintenance is provided between 10.00am to 10.00pm from Monday to Saturday excluding public holidays, so Sunday trading is uncovered for physical faults. For outlets outside Singapore the merchant pays the travel and living expenses of the vendor's personnel.
The privacy policy, last updated in September 2026, is written to the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act. Access and correction requests are answered within thirty days, deletion and consent-withdrawal requests within ten business days where possible, and accounts unused for more than three years are deleted. Platforms and databases run on cloud resources from the EU subsidiaries of Google and Amazon Web Services, and the policy states the company does not sell or rent personal data.
Two boundaries deserve a close read. The contract allows the vendor's servers to record information created by your use of the Solutions and share it with its business partners, subsidiaries and affiliates — while the marketing module's FAQ separately states data is encrypted, stored in GDPR/CCPA-compliant servers and never shared with third parties. Those statements do not reconcile. The kiosk application's data-safety declaration reports that data is not encrypted and cannot be deleted, while the console application declares encryption in transit and a deletion path. Neither document says whether personal data is used to train models.
Not for a full deployment. The two lower plan cards offer a Get Started path, the upper bands route to Speak with us, and the fees that matter are set in a Service Order. Vibe is invite only, MunchMate runs a waitlist.
The published subscription is only the base. In this round's check the pricing page showed SGD 0, SGD 49 and SGD 149 per location per month for the first three bands and Custom for the top band, and the contract adds a percentage commission on every order's transaction value.
No. The entry plan is designed to run without POS integration at all. Order routing starts at the 4-10 outlet band, menu sync at 11-30, and custom POS integration only at 30+ outlets.
The picture is mixed. The privacy policy says personal data is never sold or rented, while the terms let the vendor record usage information and share it with business partners, subsidiaries and affiliates.
Very few that could be verified. In this round the major business-software review platforms and the main AI tool directories either returned access blocks or had no listing, and no consumer review profile exists for the domain.
