PPSPY is an AI-assisted research service for Shopify stores and dropshipping products. It combines store discovery, product research, traffic analysis and competitor monitoring, with access through its website, a Chrome extension and a separately priced API. Its central sales proposition needs a clear boundary: the company describes its order data as predictions produced by a proprietary AI algorithm for a 15-day competitor report.
The company markets coverage of at least one million active Shopify stores, at least 200 million products, at least 800,000 themes and at least 30,000 one-product stores, as captured on October 29, 2026. These are vendor-stated figures, not independently audited coverage.
PPSPY's ad monitoring accepts an advertiser name or ID, or a competitor store URL, and describes email notifications when new ads appear. Its reports cover total ad activity, daily new ads, active and expired ads, and historical campaigns, with full-report downloads and single or batch export options.
Ad analysis is described as covering creative material, copy, hooks, running time, products, landing pages and formats. Notification choices include real-time, daily and threshold-triggered emails.
Monitoring by any advertising keyword is marked as not live and described only as a possible future feature.
The documented sales-tracker flow has three stages:
Report timing is described inconsistently: the tracker introduction promises a report in an hour, while its workflow says a report becomes available in a few moments. Neither wording is a measured delivery-time guarantee.
The sales tracker also describes reminder emails associated with report generation and closure. Users can turn those reminders on or off.
Theme research can be organized by the installed theme, monthly traffic, website language, product count and product types. This is positioned as a way to find storefront design inspiration.
Traffic research is positioned around traffic trends and stores promoted through SEO, social media, email and paid display.
One-product-store discovery is presented for investigating niches, product presentation and copy. The material-use terms still apply to photographs, text and creative assets found through this research.
PPSPY's subscription terms describe the services as intended for business activity rather than personal or household use. Its advertising tracker is specifically positioned for ecommerce competitor research and product or niche discovery beyond Shopify stores.
PPSPY offers a browser-based application with signup and login, alongside its Chrome extension. The Shopify Spy description says the extension can analyze a Shopify storefront being visited.
For advertising, supported monitoring objects include Meta advertisers, ecommerce store URLs such as Shopify, WooCommerce and shoplazza/shopline, and final landing-page URLs. This broader input list belongs to Ad Tracker.
The REST API returns JSON for Shopify stores, products and traffic, ad-library data and monitoring, using an API key. API credits and monitoring have separate prices from the web subscriptions.
MCP is documented for compatible AI clients, including Claude Desktop, Cursor and Codex. The stated prerequisites include Node.js 22 or later with npx, a PPSPY API key and credits, and a compatible client.
The CLI documentation requires Node.js 20 or later, and supports a global npm installation or invocation through npx. API queries require a PPSPY API key; CLI help commands do not make API requests.
The following USD prices and allowances were captured on October 29, 2026. The annual figures are a promotion advertised as 50% off in Q4 until December 31, with monthly plans expressly excluded.
| Plan | Monthly subscription | Promotional annual subscription | Sales and ad trackers | Credits per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $39/month | $19.50/month equivalent; $234/year | 30 | 10,000 |
| Pro | $99/month | $49.50/month equivalent; $594/year | 100 | 100,000 |
| Business | $299/month | $149.50/month equivalent; $1,794/year | 300 | 500,000 |
All three displayed cards list data export or creative download and describe the Chrome extension as available without a usage limit. The tracker and credit allowances remain finite.
Credits reset at the start of each billing month based on the subscription start date, including on annual plans. Unused credits are cleared rather than rolled over. List queries consume one credit for each returned item, while opening a single item's details, including popups or ad details, consumes 20 credits.
The pricing FAQ offers an email-registration trial without a payment card and gives Account > Subscription as the cancellation route. The subscription policy also describes a time- or number-limited trial, restricts it to one offer per member, and states that a subscription starts and bills automatically after a trial using a provided payment method unless cancelled. The no-card offer and the policy's billing language have different payment assumptions.
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled under the terms. The policy says the right to use the services ceases immediately on subscription termination or expiry. PPSPY may change, withdraw or cancel the trial at its discretion; no fixed universal trial duration is established by these descriptions.
The pricing FAQ states that PPSPY does not issue refunds. Its subscription policy likewise makes cancelled or unused monthly and annual fees nonrefundable, but contains qualified exceptions: provider-initiated termination may receive prorated compensation based on full remaining months, subject to exclusions for breaches, illegality, fraud, abuse or harm to user or company interests. It also describes contacting PPSPY about a refund if its cancellation function fails or is late.
The subscription policy permits third-party payment processors such as Stripe or PayPal to handle payment and associated personal information for that purpose.
API data credits are advertised as one-time USD purchases without a subscription: $200 for 50,000 credits, $800 for 200,000, or $2,000 for 500,000. Each tier uses a displayed rate of $0.004 per credit. Shopify store and product records cost one credit per returned record; ad-library records cost two.
API ad and sales monitoring uses a separate balance. The displayed rate is $1 per monitor, starting at $100 for 100 monitors, with a one-month term and unlimited queries during that term. A monitor stops automatically at expiry, and deleting one does not restore its credit. The API's month-long term is distinct from the web sales tracker's 15-day run.
Koala Inspector offers a free-forever plan with basic store analysis, product statistics, best sellers, CSV export and 15 monthly tokens. It also describes store structure, app and theme detection, product browsing, best sellers, favorites and inspection history as always available without tokens.
Its Premium plan is advertised at $22/month with 220 monthly tokens, tracking for up to 50 shops and priority support. Deeper actions have different token charges; for example, traffic analysis costs three tokens and shop tracking uses 15 tokens per shop per month. Both the tracked-shop allowance and token balance apply.
BuiltWith offers a different research emphasis: technology-based prospect lists and lists matching keywords or phrases on a website's homepage. Its own description includes filtering by technologies, technology categories, locations, traffic ranking and technology spend, with export.
Koala Inspector emphasizes store inspection with token-gated depth; BuiltWith emphasizes technology and prospect lists. These are competitor-authored descriptions, not independent validation of PPSPY's estimates or equivalent data coverage.
The tracker describes its output as estimated sales while claiming accuracy above 80.5%. The separate Shopify Spy marketing claims an error margin below 20%. These are vendor claims, rather than independently reproduced validation results. The terms also classify the information as reference material, disclaim guaranteed accuracy and completeness, and do not warrant that website materials are current.
Downloaded material has a purpose and rights boundary. Clause 3.2 of the terms requires compliance with applicable laws, website rules and agreements when using the public-network collection tools. It limits obtained material to monitoring and learning, excludes other commercial use, and states that copyright in text, images and videos remains with the copyright owner. That restriction coexists with the advertised review and product export/import functions.
The service, software, platform and report license is limited, revocable, nontransferable and non-subcontractable. Its listed restrictions include resale or rental, modifying reports or software, removing proprietary notices, and transferring or mirroring data, subject to the stated exception where restrictions are prohibited by law or PPSPY gives written permission.
User-provided links and content must be lawful and noninfringing under the terms. The same terms authorize PPSPY to use a user's company name and trademarks in website promotions, marketing materials and press releases.
The terms also oppose plagiarism for direct commercial production and disclaim responsibility for disputes arising from improper use of the information. This reinforces the distinction between researching an asset and having rights to reproduce it.
PPSPY's privacy policy says it may request an email address and first and last name, and automatically collects usage information such as IP address, browser details, visited pages, visit times and diagnostic identifiers. Its stated uses include operating accounts and services, contractual communications, news or offers unless opted out, data analysis, usage trends and service or marketing improvement. The reviewed policy does not state an explicit model-training rule or training opt-out; its general improvement wording is not a no-training promise.
Cookies and related tracking technologies are used to follow service activity and store information. The policy lists session cookies for authentication and fraud prevention, and persistent cookies for notice acceptance and remembered preferences.
The policy allows sharing with service providers, affiliates and business partners, during business transfers, through public interactions, or with consent. It permits processing outside the user's jurisdiction and states that transfers require adequate controls. It also says commercially acceptable security measures cannot guarantee absolute security.
Personal data are retained for as long as necessary for the policy's purposes, legal obligations, dispute resolution and agreement enforcement. Usage data are generally kept for a shorter period, with exceptions for security, functionality improvements or legal duties. No fixed retention period in days is stated. Deletion requests can be made by email or in-app chat; the policy says they will be processed and answered within two working days, which is not phrased as an unconditional deletion-completion deadline.
The Chrome extension listing separately carries a developer declaration that it does not collect or use user data. That declaration concerns the listed extension and is not an independent privacy audit or a replacement for the website policy's collection and sharing disclosures.
The tracker FAQ says reports can be downloaded whenever they have generated data, and that monitoring reports and data are retained permanently. This report-retention statement is distinct from personal-data retention.
Invoices are available under Account > Invoice. The pricing FAQ describes downloading an invoice and filling in billing information such as country, company name, address and VAT details.
The pricing FAQ says the old membership is prorated into hours on the new membership, the old subscription is cancelled and the new subscription takes effect. Automatic debiting on the new subscription waits until those converted hours have been used.
