What is MuleRun?

MuleRun is an always-on AI agent that works on a cloud computer rather than only inside a chat window. You describe a task in plain language, and the agent opens tools, runs steps and hands back files, reports, web pages or scheduled results.

The company frames this as the main difference from chat-only assistants: MuleRun says your agent runs on a dedicated computer that stays on 24/7, so work can continue after you close the tab.

Ownership is not stated in one place:

• The Terms of Use name Intelligent Cloud Computing (Singapore) Private Limited as the provider of MuleRun.
• A May 2026 report in a Hong Kong newspaper describes MuleRun as developed by Alibaba Group Holding and says it was showcased at the Alibaba Cloud summit on May 20. That newspaper is itself owned by Alibaba Group, so the report is not independent of the company it describes.
• MuleRun Team subscriptions can be bought on the MuleRun website or through the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

MuleRun's own legal, pricing and help pages reviewed on September 28, 2026 do not state a parent-company relationship.

The product has also changed shape. MuleRun's llms.txt site summary still describes an AI agent marketplace whose creator program lets creators publish agents and keep over 80% of the income. The creator-program page it links to showed a page-not-found message when checked on September 28, 2026, and the current homepage, pricing and help pages describe a subscription-and-credits agent service instead.

Core features

MuleRun combines a chat-driven agent, a persistent machine and reusable skills. Scheduled tasks and messaging channels run on your Computer instance, so the plan you buy decides which of them you can use.

Super Agent chat

Chat is the default workspace. In Super Agent chat, the agent breaks tasks into steps, calls tools, shows its thinking and streams intermediate artifacts such as search results, files, code and screenshots back into the conversation.

MuleRun Computer

MuleRun Computer is a persistent cloud computer with its own disk and workspace that stays online 24/7, controlled through natural-language chat. MuleRun Computer creates an automatic backup every day at 00:00 UTC and keeps up to the 7 most recent backups, and you can restore a previous day's state from Settings.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge Network automatically retrieves relevant Skills and Knowledge and injects them into Super Agent when a task is submitted. Who writes that knowledge is the part to check:

• Verified: open-source Skills that MuleRun says it has tested and certified.
• Community: Knowledge shared by other MuleRun users, since users can share their own Knowledge publicly for others to use.
• Group (Enterprise): only Knowledge shared inside the company; third-party open-source Skills are not shown.

A separate Skills Hub page advertises 180,000+ agent skills; only items tagged Verified are described as tested by MuleRun.

Scheduled tasks

Scheduled Tasks run a saved prompt on your Computer instance on a schedule: no repeat, a custom interval, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Results go back to MuleRun by default or to a connected messaging channel, and the browser does not need to stay open while the Computer is running.

Pages, Data Sources and CLI

• Pages: publishes static or dynamic sites on an auto-assigned mule.page domain or a custom domain; dynamic pages currently use a Node.js backend.
• Data Sources: third-party data APIs the agent calls during a task. Financial market data is free to all users, while e-commerce data (Amazon, TikTok Shop) and social sentiment data (Twitter/X, Reddit) are paid-only.
• MuleRun CLI: the studio command covers 40+ image, video, speech and music model endpoints, and a code command launches a coding agent under the same MuleRun login.

Getting started

1. To start, sign up for a free account, describe the task in the chat box and click Run Agent; MuleRun says no credit card is required for your first workflows.
2. Answer any question or authorization card the agent raises while it works.
3. Download the finished files from the conversation.

Reusing a workflow

1. A completed task can be saved to Knowledge with the Save to Knowledge button on the Task page and reused later from the My Knowledge tab.
2. Edit the title and content before saving; later edits are used the next time that Knowledge is matched.

Setting up a recurring task

1. Make sure you have a Computer instance and a Plus-or-higher plan.
2. Open Toolbox, then Scheduled Tasks, and click New Task.
3. Fill in Title, Prompt and Schedule, then choose where results should be sent.
4. For delivery to a chat app, IM channels are connected by talking to the agent in Computer Chat rather than through a settings panel.

Use cases and examples

MuleRun's examples lean toward office output and ongoing AI workflow automation rather than quick answers:

• Documents and decks: sample tasks include a branded PPTX, an HTML report built from live US stock market data with charts and tables, and news compiled into Markdown or Word files.
• Research and reporting: daily research and reporting, delivered as downloadable Markdown, Word or Excel files, is a core documented use case.
• Websites and apps: MuleRun showcases functional websites and web apps built entirely by its agents, which ties into Pages hosting.
• Monitoring: MuleRun promotes proactive monitoring of metrics such as website uptime, data pipeline health, competitor pricing, inventory levels and campaign performance, with the agent acting when something changes.

These examples are chosen by the vendor and are not measured success rates.

Who is it for

• Business users who don't code: MuleRun says the product is designed for business users rather than developers and needs no coding, setup or IT tickets.
• Developers and scripted workflows: the MuleRun CLI is built for developers working from the terminal, operators and scripts, and other AI agents that call it.
• People with recurring or long-running work: the Computer, Scheduled Tasks and channels are built for jobs that repeat or need files kept between runs.
• Teams: MuleRun Team and Enterprise add a management layer with members, seats, shared credits, permissions, shared content and unified billing.

It is a weaker fit in several situations:

• MuleRun's Chat docs say lightweight Q&A that needs no tool calls, millisecond-level real-time control and fully local high-compliance scenarios are not recommended uses.
• The Computer docs say one-off tasks that don't depend on a persistent environment should just be done in chat.
• Users in mainland China cannot use Scheduled Tasks or get local VAT invoices.

Platforms

• Web: the main workspace is the browser app at mulerun.com.
• Chrome extension: MuleRun's Browser Connector is a Chrome extension, and only desktop Chrome is supported, not Edge, Opera, Firefox, Safari or mobile. The Browser Connector extension is installed from a ZIP via Chrome's Developer mode and Load unpacked.
• Connectors: connectors include third-party accounts such as GitHub and Notion alongside the My Browser extension.
• iOS: a MuleRun iOS app is listed on the US App Store with the seller name CLAWCLOUD (SINGAPORE) PRIVATE LIMITED, a different entity name from the one in the Terms of Use.
• Command line: the MuleRun CLI is published on npm as @mulerunai/cli, bundles binaries for macOS and Linux on arm64 and x64, and requires Node.js 20+.
• Messaging apps: MuleRun Computer can connect to Telegram, Discord, Feishu (Lark), WeChat and WhatsApp.
• Regional limits: Scheduled Tasks require Plus or above and are not open in the CN region.

Pricing

MuleRun pricing is credit-based: plans set a monthly credit allowance, and MuleRun's pricing page converts credits at $1 = 100 credits. Tasks consume different amounts of credits depending on complexity, execution steps, resource usage and retries.

The pricing page opens on yearly billing, labelled 20% off; monthly-billing prices for Plus, Super and Pro are not shown in that view, and Enterprise is by contact. The help center describes Super as the top personal plan, even though the pricing page gives Pro a higher price and allowance.

Credit rules

• Monthly subscription credits expire each cycle and do not roll over.
• Free users have a monthly cap of 2,000 daily credits per calendar month, and daily credits are valid only on the day granted.
• Credit top-ups are available only to paid subscribers, start at 10 USD for 1,000 credits and are valid for 2 years.
• Super no longer offers a 7-day free trial; the current promotion is a half-price first month.

Billing, upgrades and refunds

• MuleRun's Terms say fees are in USD and non-refundable except as required by law.
• Subscriptions renew automatically and must be cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.
• On web (Stripe) upgrades the old plan is not refunded, leftover credits do not carry over and the cycle resets to the upgrade date.
• Direct downgrades and direct switching between monthly and annual billing are not supported; you cancel and re-subscribe instead.
• Payments go through Stripe, Alipay may be available in some regions, subscription payments do not support WeChat Pay, and MuleRun cannot issue mainland China VAT invoices.

MuleRun alternatives

The alternatives depend on which part of MuleRun you need: a chat assistant, a rule-based automation tool, or a self-hosted agent.

• Chat assistants: MuleRun's homepage contrasts itself with chatbots such as ChatGPT and Copilot, saying a chatbot answers questions in a chat window while MuleRun uses a dedicated computer to complete the task. For short Q&A without tool calls, MuleRun's own docs say a general LLM is sufficient.
• Rule-based automation: MuleRun says Zapier and Make require building rigid rule-based automations step by step, while its agents work from a described goal.
• Self-hosted agents: OpenClaw describes itself as open source and running on the user's own machine. The May 2026 newspaper report frames MuleRun as trying to replicate the OpenClaw agent craze while avoiding privacy and security risks associated with the open-source software, so the choice is between a managed, credit-billed AI agent platform and one you host yourself.
• Other agent products: a third-party AI tool directory lists Hostinger 1-Click OpenClaw, Jotform AI Agents, Google Antigravity and Hermes-Agent among MuleRun alternatives.

Limitations

Output reliability and responsibility

• MuleRun's Terms warn that its AI system may produce inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information and disclaim liability for errors in outputs.
• MuleRun's help center says that in complex tasks agents may misunderstand, produce incomplete fixes or retry multiple times, and retries use credits.
• MuleRun says it orchestrates third-party AI models via APIs and does not design, train, fine-tune, modify or host the underlying models.
• The Terms say MuleRun is not responsible for third-party services such as LLMs, plugins and APIs, and users are responsible for losses from using them.
• MuleRun says agents ask for approval before critical actions and that users can pause or redirect workflows at any time.

Conflicting plan details

• MuleRun's help center says Free users do not have Computer access and a paid subscription is required.
• The Computer docs say Free users can partially try Computer, with some capabilities such as Scheduled Tasks requiring a paid tier.
• MuleRun's help center gives example Computer specs for paid tiers as 2c4g, 4c8g and 8c12g, which does not match the Pro VM memory listed on the pricing page.

Browser and account access

• The Browser Connector extension can access all browser pages, and MuleRun advises against handing it sensitive pages such as online banking during authorized tasks.
• Browser authorization is per chat session and expires after 30 days; there is no UI to revoke a specific authorization, and an auto-approve option skips the confirmation card.

Files and storage

• MuleRun is not obliged to store or provide copies of User Content, and users are responsible for backups.
• A shut-down Computer can be recovered or replaced within 30 days, after which its data is deleted.
• The Computer Files panel cannot delete, rename or create files or folders from the UI.

Privacy and data use

• User requests, messages and files may be sent to third-party LLM providers such as Google's Gemini or Alibaba's Qwen.
• MuleRun generally stores personal data on servers in Singapore, and data may be transferred and processed outside the user's jurisdiction.
• The Privacy Policy allows entities in MuleRun's corporate group to share personal data for improving products and personalising recommendations.
• Users grant MuleRun and its affiliates a worldwide royalty-free licence to use Inputs and eligible outputs to operate, optimize and enhance services, including internal research, service improvements or brand promotion.
• MuleRun says its collective intelligence uses anonymized workflow patterns, not users' private data, and that files, conversations and business information remain confidential.
• The Privacy Policy says Google user data is not used to train or improve generalized AI/ML models; for other content, training use is not addressed beyond the licence above.
• As between the user and MuleRun, users retain ownership of their User Content, and outputs are not guaranteed to be unique.
• Account deletion is self-service and account data cannot be recovered afterwards.

Legal terms

• Users must be at least 18 or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
• MuleRun's aggregate liability is capped at the greater of fees paid in the prior six months or US $100.
• The Terms are governed by Singapore law, disputes go to SIAC arbitration, and users waive class actions.

FAQ

Q1. Is MuleRun an Alibaba product?

The provider named in the Terms is a Singapore company, and MuleRun's own pages do not name a parent. An Alibaba-owned newspaper reports that Alibaba Group developed it, and Team plans are sold through the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

Q2. Does the free plan include the cloud computer?

The pricing page lists no Personal VM for Free and the help center says Computer needs a paid plan, while the Computer docs describe partial Free access.

Q3. Can the agent use my logged-in accounts?

Yes, through the Chrome Browser Connector, which acts in your own browser with your existing sessions; one authorization covers a chat session for up to 30 days.
