The service is run by Katara Tech Inc. The company says it was founded in 2018. It describes itself as trusted by 5M+ users, a vendor figure rather than an audited count.
For buyers weighing Maestra AI, three things shape the decision more than the feature list. Plans are sold as monthly minute allowances that shrink when a task involves translation, dubbing or cloned voices. Voice cloning runs on a third-party engine whose terms users must accept. Public review signals are split rather than uniformly positive.
Maestra's AI transcription turns audio and video into text with speaker detection, punctuation and timestamps. Files can come from a device, Instagram, Dropbox or Google Drive, or from a pasted link, and the number of speakers can be set before processing so voices are separated in the transcript. Paid plans from Basic upward add an AI summary and a custom dictionary.
The real-time tools produce live transcription and speech translation while a meeting, event or broadcast is running. Two-way translation lets several speakers use different languages in the same session, and shared sessions let attendees follow in their preferred language.
Higher tiers change how translation is produced. Premium adds OpenAI translation with prompts and AI rewriting, while Business adds DeepL translation, a translation glossary and an embeddable player. Maestra Teams gives managers channels and three permission levels: view only, edit, and edit & export. Members who join a team get the same amount of minutes as the team creator.
The use cases split into recorded media, where files are uploaded and edited, and live work, where captions or translated speech appear during the event.
For live events the choice between plans matters most, because real-time translation and real-time dubbing draw down minutes much faster than plain captions (see Pricing).

The comparison turns on scope. Maestra's case rests on combining transcription, subtitles, dubbing with voice cloning and live translation under one minute-based plan. Buyers who only need transcripts or meeting notes are comparing a narrower job, so Maestra's transcription-only Lite plan is the closest tier to set against those products.
