Image Upscaler is a browser-based AI image upscaler and photo repair service: you upload a picture, pick a scale factor or repair mode, and the file is processed on the vendor's servers. It began as a deep learning convolutional neural network built for image upscaling and has since grown into a set of AI tools for image processing.
The team behind it describes itself as a young group from Ukraine that started with this single upscaling tool and turned it into a multifunctional platform within 5 years. That history shows in the product: upscaling, deblurring, enhancement and JPEG cleanup are the core, while several effect tools added later are now switched off.
"Image upscaler" is also a generic phrase, and several unrelated services use almost the same name. This page covers only the service at imageupscaler.com; a similarly named product called ImgUpscaler is a different company's tool and is discussed under alternatives.
All working tools share one upload panel: add files, choose an image type and options, process, then download. The differences lie in what each tool does to the image and in which options are reserved for subscribers.

This matters when reading older reviews or the pricing page, which still mention the generator and video credits. The homepage FAQ likewise still says the service is designed to fix unwanted objects alongside low resolution, unclear details and JPEG artifacts, although object removal is currently offline.
For images smaller than 2000 pixels, the final size is the original multiplied by the chosen factor: a 1000×1000 image at 4x becomes 4000×4000. Larger uploads are reduced first (see Limitations), so a very large photo does not gain proportionally more pixels.
The vendor says the upscaler works on any image but gives better results on pictures that have not been upscaled before, and on logos, cartoons, anime and other synthesized images. For photos that are both small and blurry, it recommends running Unblur Image first and upscaling second; the upscaler itself only tries to reduce blur while enlarging.

It is a weaker fit if you need a text-to-image generator, background removal or object removal today, since those tools are switched off, or if you need refunds on unused subscription time (see Pricing).
The upscale method enlarges images 4 times and accepts .jpg, .jpeg or .png files of up to 1.2 MB, a much tighter cap than the 30MB web upload. The deblurring method is slightly more generous, taking the same three formats up to 5 MB. Sample requests show optional parameters for the scale (outscale), an anime-cartoon model (modelName), face restoration (faceRestoration) and output format (saveFormat).
The documentation and pricing page describe access differently. The API page says the first 100 API calls per month are free. Its error list, however, includes code 112 for a user without an active business subscription. The business plans list API access for the AI Image Generator, Image Deblurer and 4x Image Upscaler with jpg, jpeg and png input, and each plan carries an "Apply for an API" step.

Two official pages give different free allowances. The homepage FAQ says each user gets 3 free credits per month for each software. The per-image figures are the site's own labels. Individual plans still list the AI Image Generator among included tools even though that tool is unavailable. The pricing page does not say whether unused credits roll over.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term at the then-current non-promotional rate unless you opt out. If you cancel, the plan keeps working until the end of the paid term, but the terms rule out prorated refunds and state that the website does not offer cancellation or refunds during the agreed time frame.
