Attio is a web-based CRM (customer relationship management) platform made by Attio Limited, which lists a London office as its contact address. The vendor positions Attio as "the CRM that builds pipeline, advances deals, and grows accounts around the clock," with AI agents that research leads, draft follow-up emails and flag accounts that look at risk.
Underneath the agent features, Attio CRM is a configurable database of people, companies, deals and any custom object a team defines, fed by connected inboxes, calendars, call recordings and other tools. AI usage, workflow runs and some automations draw on a monthly credit allowance, so the real cost of the product depends on seats and on how heavily the AI features are used.
A technology news report from August 2025 described Attio as a London-based CRM startup that raised a $52 million Series B led by GV, bringing its total funding to $116 million. The homepage says Attio is "trusted by 30,000+ customers"; that figure is the company's own claim.
Attio organizes data into objects, which work like tables in a spreadsheet. Five standard objects exist: People and Companies are switched on by default, while Deals, Workspaces and Users can be activated from workspace settings. When the standard objects do not match a business, teams can create custom objects, for example a Subscriptions object for a B2B SaaS company. The number of objects and records a workspace can hold depends on the plan (see Pricing).
Connecting email and calendar is optional, but once they are synced Attio builds a real-time database of the contacts found in them. Each plan caps how many mailboxes a user can sync and how much email the workspace can send:
As an AI CRM, Attio builds its assistant and agents on the same records: Ask Attio answers questions and takes actions on CRM data, and agents can run inside workflows (a web research agent, custom agents and AI blocks). All of this is metered in credits. Attio uses two types: workspace credits, shared by everyone for all AI features and workflows, and seat credits, which each member uses personally for Ask Attio.
When a member uses Ask Attio, seat credits are spent first and usage then continues on workspace credits unless an admin has disabled that setting. The credit cost of a prompt varies with query complexity, the amount of CRM data involved, the model selected and whether web research is used. Attio's own examples put "Prep me for my next meeting" at 10–20 credits on the Auto model.
Workflow billing is more predictable: only the executed path of a workflow consumes credits. In Attio's worked examples, triggers and loop blocks cost 0 credits while each update-record step inside a loop costs 1 credit, so cost scales with the number of records processed. Email sequences only use credits when they run inside a workflow, for example through an enroll-in-sequence block.
Call recording is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans. The Attio recorder joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, and any participant can remove it by typing a message such as "@Attio leave" in the meeting chat once it has been admitted. Recordings, transcripts and generated insights appear on the related record.
The Attio API applies a rate limit of 100 requests per second for reads and 25 requests per second for writes across the whole API. Attio may lower the limit temporarily during incidents, and requests over the limit get an HTTP 429 response with a Retry-After header. The List records and List entries endpoints add score-based limits: each query gets a complexity score, and scores are summed across all apps and tokens in a 10-second sliding window.
For AI assistants, Attio runs a hosted MCP server that connects through OAuth with an Attio login rather than API keys. It works with MCP clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor; read operations are auto-approved, while write operations ask the user for confirmation.
CSV import is available on all plans. Admins can import, and members can import when they have access to the target object or list. Each file must meet these limits:
Unique attributes such as email addresses for people or domains for companies are how Attio matches rows to existing records. The import preview is only an estimate: Attio compares rows with existing records but not with each other, so a new record that appears on several rows shows up more than once in the preview and is merged into one record when the import runs.
For CRM data migration, Attio relies on Import2, a migration service that is free for Attio users and available to admins on the Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans. Import2 can bring over companies, people, deals, custom objects, notes, tasks and files from supported CRMs, which include HubSpot CRM, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and MS Dynamics. Sources that Import2 does not support go through CSV import or the API instead.
Some source systems have gaps. From Salesforce, Import2 moves Contacts, Accounts, Leads and Opportunities, but Cases cannot currently be migrated. Call recordings are not part of the Import2 service for any source.
The workspace backup is a zip of CSV files covering lists, companies, people, deals, custom objects, files, notes, tasks, comments and call-recording metadata. Emails cannot be exported, and meetings and call recordings have to be pulled through the API.
The examples Attio publishes centre on revenue teams rather than on general contact management.
Attio's plan descriptions map fairly directly to team size and administrative needs.
Fit is weaker for teams that plan heavy AI assistant use on the lower plans, since seat credits start at 100 per user per month on Free, and for teams that need to self-host: none of the four plans on the pricing page is a self-hosted edition.
Attio is primarily a web application used in a browser, and the iOS and Android apps cover records, list entries, notes, tasks, comments, email access and call recordings on the go. The downloads page also lists:
The mobile requirements differ between official sources. The help center says the app needs Android 13 or later or iOS 26 or later. The App Store listing, however, sets a minimum of iOS 16.4. The US App Store listing showed an average rating of 3.57 out of 5 as captured on September 28, 2026. That average was based on 28 ratings.
Beyond native apps, Attio connects to tools such as Claude, Slack, Clay, Linear and Notion, and the API covers systems without a native integration.
Attio pricing is per seat in USD: Plus is $35 per user per month on annual billing or $44 on monthly billing, and Pro is $79 or $99. The pricing page defaults to annual billing and shows the monthly figures when the toggle is switched:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Seats | Objects | Records | Seat credits per user/month | Workspace credits per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Up to 3 | Up to 3 | 50,000 | 100 | 250 |
| Plus | $44 | $35 | Up to 10 | Up to 5 | 250,000 | 500 | 1,500 |
| Pro | $99 | $79 | Unlimited | Up to 12 | 1,000,000 | 1,000 | 10,000 |
| Enterprise | Not listed | Custom quote, billed annually | Unlimited | Unlimited | Custom | 2,500 | Custom |
The annual rates reflect a 20% discount that applies to Plus and Pro. New workspaces start with a 14-day free trial of Pro, and when it ends admins can continue on any plan, including Free.
Credits and billing rules that the table does not show:
The pricing page is not fully consistent about seats. Its FAQ describes the Free plan as for teams with less than 3 people and says Plus has an unlimited amount of seats, while the plan cards and comparison table list up to 3 seats for Free and up to 10 seats for Plus.
Two alternatives come up repeatedly in third-party comparison articles, each answering a different objection to Attio's model.
Attio's AI policy states that Attio does not train its own models on customer data and does not allow third-party AI providers to train their models on it either. The same policy says Attio may use third-party models from providers such as Google, OpenAI and Anthropic, which may process customer data including metadata. AI features may not work for users outside those providers' supported regions. Attio also says its services are not intended for AI-driven automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or for "high risk" purposes under the EU AI Act. According to its data processing addendum, the platform is hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
Yes. The Free plan costs $0 and covers up to 3 seats, 3 objects and 50,000 records, with 250 workspace credits per month. New workspaces also get a 14-day trial of the Pro plan.
Yes, on Plus, Pro and Enterprise through the free Import2 migration service, which supports both. Salesforce Cases and call recordings are not migrated, and data from unsupported tools can come in through CSV import or the API.
Attio's AI policy says it does not train its own models on customer data and does not let third-party AI providers train on it, although those providers may process the data to run AI features.
100 read requests and 25 write requests per second across the API, with additional score-based limits on the List records and List entries endpoints.
Yes. There are iOS and Android apps for working with records, notes, tasks and call recordings; the help center lists Android 13 or later and iOS 26 or later as requirements.
